The name of that Amatya was Subandhu / Saubandhu, he is mentioned in some Jain text.
But from what i have read, Chankaya was in a position to attain Nirvana.
It looks like a voluntary death.

I am still searching about this, as i have not got the translation of the text which is not in English. Same is case with Dharma-Bindusara angle. The translation of text is not available with me. As soon as i get, i will post on these issues. :)

Hope you find it soon

i also liking this show. i not know, its NR, or Real facts, but show Has binding astemena,
or connecting language with Audience.

second thing, is, Attitude of Everycharcter, is giving feeling, Historical.

set is feeling also Good. Body language is also good.

Chanakya, Good teacher, Knows Ashoka qualites, or Giving shape, to Ashoka, After getting shape, His qualties will be more spreaded, or History is giving witness.Or Ashoka is Alive
also today. A

Ashok Stambh, is Big, Ex.

Liking Ashok, & Mother intimassy, yesterday episode, Bindusar +Ashoka, Heart feelings were connecting, secene was good. my song land is ready,😆 😆

Tu kitni achhi hai, tu kitni bholi hai
Pyaari pyaari hai, o maa o maa
O maa, o maa) - 2
Meri nindiyaan pe apni nindiyaan bhi
Tune maari hai, o maa o maa
O maa, o maa
Tu kitni achhi hai, tu kitni bholi hai
Pyaari pyaari hai, o maa o maa
O maa, o maa
Apna nahin tujhe sukh dukh koi - 2
Main muskaaya tu muskaayi, main roya tu royi
Mere hansne pe, mere rone pe
Tu balihaari hai, o maa o maa
O maa, o maa

Liked, Bindusar says, Blood is feeling same. (Bindusar +Ashoka )

Ashoka mother taught, Non violance method, Chanakya taught, King's, Life style or how King should be, or Ashok, is Ex of Both.

He was perfect on Both fields.

Liked Ashok, ans, King should treat another King, as a King full Manner.

This thought should be Learn everyone, because less people follow this.

Thanks for this post Ayushi, as usual quite vibrant.
Nice to find you here.
I agree with all your points you said about {A-B-C-D}, especially the blue ones. :)

Till now, almost all the refugees of JA are liking it. :-P
This show does looks like a historical, of course with NR. !!

PS:
A - Asoka
B - Bindusara
C - Chanakya
D - Dharma

Thank you. I'm glad you liked the post.

The post on page-1 where i compared Chanakya with Bismarck was not a historical remark in strict sense, but my view about Chanakya, as I'm very impressed by these two people and see a lot of similarities. :)

Yes, what you shared is absolutely correct, Chanakya is termed Indian Machiavelli ; our former PM J.L. Nehru himself mentioned this in his autobiography, as mentioned in a post on page-1 also by a fellow member. {Link} . Some Old historians (before 1947) compared Chanakya with Bismarck . But, after independence, Sardar Patel did exactly the same unification as done by Bismarck, and hence the epithet to him as you mentioned. :)

Whatever may the degree of NR, still this show has a royal back drop. And you are right, it has been able to strike a chord with the viewers. The TRP's were decent. Bound to increase for sure.

Watching Sid is a treat and i am sure the PH will exploit his talents to the fullest. So, lets be ready for his long role. Also, he has set a high bar for the adult Ashoka automatically. He will have to be someone really good.

BTW, I want a more "stern" portrayal of Chanakya . :-P
He looks very mild compared to what i have read about him. :)
Chanakya was very strict and well versed in all rules and regulations.

PS : I can see you must be having a hard time, while watching with your son. Haha. ! :-P

Abhay

Lines in purple:

Sternness can be depicted in different ways. This Chanakya is stern enough in his behaviour though he doesn't look stern on the outside. :)

Reg last line, ya, i generally like to watch quietly and it is a bit disturbing having to answer a constant flow of questions while trying to catch the dialogs ;p

Dear Abhay, thanks a zn buddy. What do I say? I am so excited about this thread. I was hoping you will get into Ashoka forum and especially was going to request you for a thread on Chanakya and here it is already!! I am a BIG fan of Chanakya and so am super excited and very thankful to you as well for sharing such valuable info about him.

And with your entry dear friend, I feel the show is complete, for there is no feeling of completeness on any historical without devouring Abhay's posts. As we know, we are all here for history, for the great personality and what else could be a better source than our Abhay to satisfy our greed to know more about this super personality.

And dear JA friends, just lovely to convene after so long. I am sure it's going to be good fun now with all of you around.

I hope to catch up with you all post Shivarathri. For that matter am yet to catch up with the serial, which also now needs to wait until mid next week for Shivarathri to be over.

Till then, enjoy Chanakya's Arthasastra at,http://www.sanskritebooks.org/2009/11/arthashastra-of-chanakya-english-translation/
Happy MahaShivarathri!

Hi Kaana,
First of all, thanks a lot for the link. This contains Sanskrit text as well, which is what i look for always, because English translations do give some adulterated info, which i detest reading. Same happened with Asokavandan. :( I am going to go for the Sanskritized one, provided we have a translator. :D

Now, so glad to find you here. Hope you will do your fantastic posts here as well and share your philosophical insights on this show too. :)

Looking forward to reading more from you. Happy MahaShivratri.
Rushing back to my work. I Have been advised to spend limited time online these days.

@All..Till then carry on the discussions.
