Well, I bet that Kamal Haasan didn't mean the positive traits of the Sanatana Dharma but what certain people make out of them...and those jumping on the bandwagon of threatening Kamal prove it. His criticism is tied to a specific subject matter and I'm quite sure that there, the principles of Sanatana Dharma aren't respected but turned into "chains". However, if the wording I read in the article is correct, it was a mistake to word his criticism like that.
