Do you need more participants for May's reading challenge, Lizzie? Then I can ask someone to join. She enjoys reading books.

Thank you Lizzie!
Edit : I see you have already created a page log in the thread. Welcome to the team Arya. I have answered your question in the thread.
Feel free to hit me or Lizzie up with your queries.
since two people from Chronicle chasers are AWOL, I asked Arya to join cos they are a couple of members short.

Maybe your friend can join in June?
Also, I want to put this out there now. I won’t be captain in June and July and also won’t be actively participating. Madhu will take over for a while so I’ll need some volunteers to help her out/ be captains etc. Let me know if any of you would be willing.

Madhuri is a very nice person. When I participated in the music competition, Voice of India Forums, she was the mentor. She gave me good advice and valuable feedback at that time. I'm glad that she'll take over this reading challenge. I can help her out if she needs.
Thank you, our dear Madhura Gayani for extending your helping hand.

You're also nice and polite, Lizzie. You gave answers to all of my questions with patience. I asked a lot of questions. I wanted to buddy-read with you in June. But it's completely fine if you have work. You should prioritise your work because it's more important.

I can volunteer but wouldn’t it be unfair to rest of the participants if I continue to be the captain third month in a row ? I’m fine with it if you are.
I'm currently buddy-reading eminent Bengali author Satyajit Roy's book, Professor Shonku Samagra, with Muskan. Samagra means complete or entire in Bengali. The book is a collection of 40 science fiction stories. Professor Shonku is an extremely popular fictional character. He's a wise scientist with profound knowledge, and he goes on interesting adventures in his stories. All of Professor Shonku's stories were written in diary format. There are several amazing stories in the book, such as Professor Shonku o Egyptiyo Atonko (Professor Shonku and the Egyptian Terror), Professor Shonku o Golok-rohossyo (Professor Shonku and the Mystery of the Sphere), Corvus (A Latin word which means crow), Professor Shonku o Macaw (Professor Shonku and Macaw), and many others. Many of Satyajit Roy's stories were translated into English. So, non-Bengali people can read his stories as well. Satyajit Roy was a great author. He was a multi-talented person. Apart from being an immensely talented author, he was a magazine editor, illustrator, film director, calligrapher, screenwriter, and lyricist. Satyajit Roy won an Oscar in 1992 for his lifetime contributions to Indian cinema. He is considered to be the pride of Bengali people. A biopic was made on Satyajit Roy in 2022, and it received positive responses from the viewers. I admire him a lot! He's my favourite author.
When I was a kid, I used to read Bengali books only. I studied in a Bengali-medium school. Therefore, I felt gravitated towards Bengali books naturally. I read stories written by Satyajit Roy, Sukumar Roy (Satyajit Roy's father), Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay, Sunil Gangopadhyay, Narayan Gongopadhyay, and so on. Nowadays, most of the kids study in English-medium schools. A lot of Bengali people look down on Bengali-medium schools now. However, I consider my Bengali-medium background to be my strength. It helped me become strong in my mother tongue, Bengali. I've the ability to write Bengali stories because of that. I wish to become a bilingual author in the future. I'm willing to write books in both English and Bengali.
It's okay. Different people prefer reading different types of books. And a lot of fantasy novels (mainly high-fantasy books) are known for complex world-building, which makes them difficult to read. Don't force yourself to read fantasy if you don't like. If you still want to dive into this genre, I would suggest you to choose low-fantasy, contemporary fantasy, and portal fantasy books for now.
I also have difficulties reading fantasy. The story has to be really gripping.
What doesn't work at all is urban dystopia. I can't get on with that at all.
