That sounds like a technical glitch. Please report it here and tag Vijay.

THE CURRY-OUS READERS

Lizzie, I'm facing two issues. I want to ask two questions related to these two issues.

1) A lot of Bengali books have hardcover versions only. There's no Kindle version or paperback version. I've decided to buddy-read Satyajit Roy's Professor Shanku Samagra (Collection of Professor Shanku's stories) with a Bengali participant, Muskan (IF user name- Mushat). It's a science fiction book, and the stories revolve around a wise scientist named Professor Shanku. Both of us will read e-book versions. However, I saw that only the Hardcover's page count is available on Amazon. What should we do in this case? Can both of us write the Hardcover's page count on Amazon if we can't find the Kindle's print length? I'm thinking about buying two Bengali horror books named Midnight Horror and Bhootnather Diary Sampurno. And only Hardcover's page counts are available in both cases. So what should I write?

2) I want to listen to a Bengali audiobook named Sudhu Ekta Rat (Only One Night). As per the rules of the reading challenge, the participants need to write Kindle's page counts if they listen to audiobooks. But only Hardcover's page count is available for Sudhu Ekta Rat (Only One Night). What should I do in this type of situation? Can I write Amazon's hardcover page count/print length?

Please provide answers to both of these questions.

For both you can use Hardcover page counts. I’ve noted that this usually doesn’t differ by much and even if they do, I’d prefer we use Amazon for page counts rather than some dubious website. If the book isn’t available on Amazon at all in any version, then we can go to secondary sources.

Okay, we'll write Amazon's hardcover page counts for Professor Shanku Samagra. And what about the physical copies of the Bengali books that I'm going to buy? What should I write for Bengali audiobooks? I mean, most of the Bengali books have only hardcover versions on Amazon. So, if I read a physical copy of a Bengali book, I won't be able to write the Amazon paperback's page count. And if I listen to a Bengali audiobook, I won't be able to write Kindle's page count. So, can I write the hardcover page count for Bengali physical books, Bengali e-books, and Bengali audiobooks?

I'm sharing a few links so that you will get an idea.

Hard covers and paperbacks again usually have the same page count, so yes use Amazon hardcover page counts if you’re reading a paperback, Same for Audiobooks

No you don’t need to tag me in the thread, but do post in the main Buddy reading thread and let me who all participating so I can add it to the first page

And can I write hardcover page counts for Bengali ebooks too? I'm not asking for the book that we'll buddy-read. You already said that we can write the hardcover page count for that book. I'm asking for other Bengali ebooks too. Kindle's page counts aren't available for Bengali books.

Yes, I'll post in the main buddy reading thread.

Yeah whatever version is available on Amazon, use that regardless of what version you’re reading. If not available on Amazon at all, then you’ll have to resort to different measures.
