They do exist, although as the exception rather than the rule.

A few examples

Arth - based on mahesh Bhatt's real life

Vivah and Nikah - one based on an arranged marriage, the other on a controversial Shariat provision. So both deal with Indian marriages, and can't be copies😉

JA is also based on arranged marriage, so it is another good example

BTW Bollywood copies not only Hollywood but other sources - by that definition parineeta, Devdas are copies of Bengali originals
