Lara Datta, a contemporary of world beauty Priyanka Chopra, has legged much behind her colleague in the tinsel world, presumably due to her inhibitions coupled with ingrained fears. However, she has begun her second innings on the fast track now. She seems to have shed her inhibitions and fear complex thanks to her first co-star Khiladi actor Akshay Kumar in her debut 'Andaaz'. That's why Lara has accepted Sudhir Mishra's 'Devdas' to play the role of Paro in it. And Sudhir Mishra's Paro is just different from Bimal Roy's Paro. Lara will play a modern-day Paro. How did she manage to overcome her timid image? She thanks Akki for this and quips, "I shed my fear of swimming underwater to do some serious scuba-diving with the sporty Akshay Kumar.

She remembers her debut co-star Akki who has been very helpful in 'Andaaz' and later in their comic film 'Bhagam Bhaag'.
