Aishwarya Rai will not be appearing in the hit NBC show Heroes, it is now clear. Reports of a possible cameo or meaty part on the show have been buzzing around Bollywood for some time. Ash is abroad, yet to return from last week's IIFA gig in Yorkshire but her manager Hari Singh said no talks were on with NBC.
"We haven't any information on this other than media reports," he said, "the makers of Heroes have not contacted either Aishwarya or me regarding this, and I know of no contract in the offing which might include this."
Asked if there was a chance that Ash had signed something without his knowledge, Singh said this was not possible. Heroes documents the lives of ordinary people who possess superhuman abilities and has become the rage on American TV.
The show has an ensemble case of different ethnic backgrounds, representing cosmopolitan New York, and has received critical acclaim for dealing with issues like drugs, rape and infidelity.
Had Ash been on the show she would've joined Claire Bennet, the popular sixteen year old star of Heroes who has healing powers. The other hottie on the show is Nicole Sanders, who has superhuman strength and an alter ego.
Ash's last tryst with Hollywood was The Last Legion, a period fantasy film which premiered on April 6 -- and was heavily panned. Before that the wires were hot with news of Ash being the next Bond girl for Casino Royale. That role went to Eva Green and the film did roaring business.
Ash's last film in Bollywood was Guru, which was a hit. She is currently working on Jodha Akbar opposite Hrithik.
