The only line I would agree to without further discussion:

"If mutual respect and exchange aren’t part of the deal, why should the door always be open just one way?"

As a further discussion would leave the field of movies, I won't engage in that (at least not here) smiley1

Reciprocity isn’t bigotry.

Tit for tat? You say it like India’s reacting irrationally — LoL this is not some schoolyard spat. Pakistani bans on Indian films have existed since 1965. That’s nearly 60 years of one-sided hostility. And yet, every time India decides to restrict access or pull back support, suddenly it's "childish" or "political" or "bigoted."

If mutual respect and exchange aren’t part of the deal, why should the door always be open just one way?

It’s only a monetary loss for them, because they’ve never allowed our films in their cinemas — even though Bollywood fuels half their pop culture and memes.

So when India finally chooses not to keep extending that one-sided courtesy, it’s not about being petty — it’s about being fair.

It was never one sided..pak has always welcomed indian entertainment and culture..there was no ban on indian movies..pak literally had no screens in late 90s / early 2000s..there was no cinema culture left..it was dead..the cable consumption would be the source of entertainment and there would be all kinds of indian channels being shown..we have grown up on BW..that does not happen when there are bans..esp in a time of no internet / VPN..that is because of pak always loving and sometimes even obsessing over BW..that was never one sided..and when cinemas started opening in pak..BW movies got all the shows and it lasted till 2019..

Culturally, there was always an exchange from both sides..indian singers like sunidhi attending hum awards and being welcomed there..to rajeev and amna shareef coming in pak's play ana in 2004 to kunika (BB19) doing a pak movie to juhi chalwa endorsing pak brands in late 2000s..there was always equal welcome from pak to indian celebs..it is only post 2016 when all of that stopped but it was never one sided..

of course if you say why not as many indian celebs seen in pak industry as pak celebs in indian industry..why would they when BW is >>>>> than pak industry could ever be..you always navigate towards the more successful territory (HW) than going down..but them not featuring enough in pak entertainment is in no way equal to pak hating / banning them

i mean does this look like hostility to you

Whatever I read about the topic of movies (Hindi filmindustry, Pakistani filmindustry), absolutely supports your writing.

I'm sure that even in current times a distribution of Hindi movies in Pakistani theatres (and vice versa) would be possible... but I repeat my take on the destroying force of fear to act against narrow-minded power-systems.
