But i will say she is below average and doing commercial movies exposed her capabilities. Her voice is highly irritating especially when shes high pitched and acting is unbearable but hey if anaya, jhanvis can get 100 chances then so should she.

Acting ability is important, but looks and exposure are better investments.

I am okay with her doing films like Bad Newz or BB3. Working with Vicky and Kartik is hardly a fail. What’s concerning is that she’s working with big floppy Sidhant now in Dhadak 2. That film is going to be a huge massive flop. Other than Vishal-Shahid’s film, she has no other interesting work lined up.

I personally am choosing to believe that this is a strategy of hers to gain more popularity, build a fan base and then foray into more complex roles. Hopefully I’m not being delulu.

She needs to work on her dancing though, I am still traumatized by whatever she did in that Mehboob song with RKR.

I do think the industry is investing more in Sharvari, who in my opinion has more potential than Tripti.

I don't think her decision to do Animal was wrong as that movie gave the attention she didn't get for past 5 years. But what after Animal? why such a downgrade?

She is pretty & can act but whatever she did after Animal is low level acting. I mean she could have definitely chosen better scripts or acting oriented roles. That movie with Rajkumar looked cringe and the steamy movie with Vicky only benefited Vicky to some extent coz of his dance in Tauba Tauba. Tripti really needs to take up dance classes. Her dance in Mere mehboob was so meh! I feel Sharvari has more potential her performance in Taras was what hot!

We are assuming that she was offered a plethora of roles and she chose to do shitty movies like Bad Newzz and Vicky Vidya instead of some content driven movies. Choosing to be a female lead opposite Vicky Kaushal and doing a comedy movie with RKR (which he is famous for) is a no brainer. Hindsight is always 20/20. Just because those movies turned out to be terrible we are judging her decisions.

I agree that she is not the best actor, especially in commercial, over the top, melodramatic movies but going by the current sorry state of Bollywood, I doubt scripts are being written to cater to anyone other than nepo babies. All good performers have shifted to OTT and relying on web series to showcase their acting talent. Rather than blaming the actor, the current situation in the industry needs to be talked about where no film is worthy of even going to the theatres for.

I doubt that Tripti is happy about how her career unfolded through her presence in Animal...but most probably she felt that she had to make the choice of skin show to get the attention of the commercial Hindi filmindustry.

She started with a small role in Sridevi's Mom, then played Shreyas Talpade's girlfriend in Shreyas' Hindi remake of his successfully produced Marathi comedy Poshter Boyz. She then got her first leading role in the Imtiaz-written Laila Majnu, a film which got critical acclaim only later. So, her path to critical praise had started three years before Bulbbul and Qala (both produced by Anushka Sharma and directed by Anvita Dutt for Netflix). None of the three movies which gave her the reputation of a skilled actress had been 'typical' Mainstream Hindi movies.

She certainly got attention through Animal but praise? I don't think so.

Tripti is 30 now...can she 'turn the tide' three years after Qala?
