Yeah, I checked out the interview. It was offered to Ranveer, but I don't think it was because of the dark theme, considering he did Padmavat. If only he knew the kind of success and stardom the movie would bring, he'd probably be all in, even if it meant giving up an arm.

The director himself calls John Wick a hyperreal world. It shows no real power-dynamics of gender, race, religion etc. It is franchise about assassins trying to one-up and kill each other. The audience goes in knowing it is whack.

Unless Vanga says that Animal has nothing to do with the real world and makes no political commentary and is a dystopia, your analogy is a false equivalency and a reach.

Talking about Ranveer being the first choice for every movie, I recently came across someone say Ranveer was first choice for everyone except for his own wife.

Padmavat was terrible movie and Ranveer doing that role was horrid but I am sure you and I would not agree on why the role was horrid.

As far as I know, that character, keeping aside historical reality, wasn't glorified in that movie? If anything, the movie was made and written so that the character could be caricaturised and demonised.

LOL, here come the defenders for Ranveer, acting like that's the only issue. It's not about Animal being a problem; it's just that their favorite didn't take the role. Like, seriously, the dude who did the AIB show has any moral high ground about the influence he passes on to youth and society? Give me a break, please.
