I am just going to read the 1-2 reviews and that will be it. I am not watching it, unless I am in the mood to be self-destructive. The assault on the women in Manipur over the summer is still on my mind. I still cannot wrap my head around the fact that it took place in India. That whole incident is so sad and disturbing.

I am not going to watch it because of the length.

Can't sit for 3.5 hrs.

Also, the reason you mentioned, though I watched Kabir Singh on the big screen.

I am waiting for Hi Para movie, it looks really good.

The lead character's derangement does add an extra layer of complexity. Will Vanga present it as a metaphor for societal chaos, or will it be a mirror reflecting the extremes of toxic masculinity?

This movie, based on what we saw so far, had a very very good chance of being a dark, psychological thriller. I am a sucker for negative, criminal minds. Nobody is born bad and something has to be the trigger for criminality. I suspect Vanga is not well equipped to handle a psycholpgical thriller and it will turn into your usual Bollywoodish stroyline despite having huge potential.

Vanga as a filmmaker is good, but what overtakes his storytelling skills is his deep-rooted misogny. It is so overhwelming, in fact, that it overshadows all other aspects. I agree the theme is most important in a film, more than the way it is presented, and Vanga is not willing to address his flaws.

I agree with what you are saying that it will probably not be a psychological thriller.

I can't imagine SRK,Hrithik,Salman or anyone agreeing to do a film like this. They have a responsibility to the public. That throat grabbing scene- NEVER.

Whatever the film makes at the BO-no superstar would like to do go down this route at this stage in their career. Rape and Violence are avoided by superstars at least in the last 10-20 years.

SRK not just grabbed a woman by her throat but toppled her down a 10 storied building. He beat up Madhuri in the most inhuman manner. Salman too did the things that wouldn’t have gone down well in the current politically correct world.

The latter. The former would be something like American Psycho or The Nightcrawler. And Vanga doesn't have it in him to make movies like them. He is driven by personal grudges and petty squabbles, all neatly tied in with misogyny and alpha male syndrome. He even called Ranbir an alpha off screen. You just can't make this up. smiley36

In the beginning of careers..people can play certain roles. Withe greater power comes greater responsibility.Kamal Haasan played a serial killer in Red Rose. The stars in GOW or on OTT platforms can play any role in any film.

I was talking about superstars in the last decade or two.

What? Srk did several movies where he abused the female lead, physically and emotionally …even kills her in baazigar where he is a hero singing romantic songs …tries to strangle madhuri with a tie in hum tumhare hai sanam, hits aishwarya with a locket bad enough to make her bleed in devdas to fill her maang, his whole toxic abusive dynamic with roma in don masked as “sexual tension”, manhandles anushka till she tells him to back off in Harry met sejal…leaves a woman at the alter in zero, is an abusive parent and husband to his kid in kank…I could go on and on

And Salman slapped everyone from shilpa, to karishma and threatened poor bhoomika in tere naam (with super hit romantic songs btw)

Hrithik might be the only one who did saaf sutra characters ….
