....My feeligs or my predictions are: Another unabashed celebration of toxic masculinity under the glittering, bold, unconventional storytelling aspect. I love Vanga as a storyteller, but hate his ideaology. Hence, I have mixed feeling about him and this movie too.

Here are some specific points which I feel will definitely be repeated in this film:

Aggressive Behavior: Just like Kabir Singh, this charachter is portrayed as a highly aggressive and impulsive character. His anger is often expressed through physical violence, including fights with other men.

Lack of Consequences: Ranbir Kapoor's charachter is a criminal and there seems to be

a lack of consequences for his actions, much like Shahid Kapoor's character in Kabir Singh. This lack of accountability for the protagonist's problematic behavior could be a recurring theme in Sandeep Vanga's films, reflecting his controversial perspective on masculinity.

Romanticization of Toxic Relationships: Similar to Kabir Singh's troubled love story, Animal might romanticize toxic relationships. The narrative might focus on the intense passion and obsession rather than addressing the unhealthy dynamics. This romanticization can be seen as a perpetuation of harmful relationship norms.

Emphasis on Male Dominance: The film might showcase a strong emphasis on male dominance and traditional gender roles. The male protagonist could be portrayed as the dominant force in the relationship, reinforcing stereotypical ideas of masculinity that align with Vanga's previous works.

Justification of Flawed Behavior: Vanga has been known to justify the flaws and morally questionable actions of his protagonists. Animal may follow this pattern, presenting the lead character's aggressive and impulsive behavior as a result of external circumstances or personal struggles, potentially downplaying the negative impact on others.

Controversial Dialogues: Sandeep Vanga's films often contain controversial dialogues that stir up discussions and debates. Animal may feature dialogues that resonate with the theme of toxic masculinity, sparking conversations about the responsibility of filmmakers in shaping societal values.

Despite my reservations about the potential celebration of toxic masculinity in Animal, I am curious to see how Sandeep Vanga tackles these themes and whether there will be any evolution or reflection in his storytelling.

If Ranbirs character dies at end then a lot of this is just hullabaloo. If not then it’s a problem

That's true...let's wait and watch.

These are assumptions I've formed after watching the trailer.

There was leak that there is DV. So I suppose glorification of such since the audience will support the power-charged hero.

Not true. Rajesh Khanna in Aanand movie dies too in the end and whole lot of other heroic characters die in the end like Jack Dawson of Titanic.

Death is not a punishment or a redemption.

True. Death whitewashes characters and elicits sympathy instead. It's not a redemption arc. If a character is as power charged as RK's, death would only paint the character as a martyr.

Animal most probably wouldn't end with RK's character dying.

It’s a consequence for reckless life like in plenty of gangster films. Perhaps movies like this shouldn’t even be made in 1st place I don’t know but these ending would make it more palatable

I dont want to stir shit, but isnt India swerving hard right? Far rights usually are misogynistic. I have not seen Kabir Singh but I remember the liberal media thrashed it while people- who are more - for the lack of a better word- conservative, loved it!

I dont think we will see anything different in Animal too. However, RK's character is portrayed to be an outright deranged man so I am interested too see how Vanga will justify that.

I get what you are saying. Not right or left, but gender dynamics are the key here.of course it goes without saying the liberal class is more oriented towards gender equality.

The lead character's derangement does add an extra layer of complexity. Will Vanga present it as a metaphor for societal chaos, or will it be a mirror reflecting the extremes of toxic masculinity?
