Surpeise, surprise! My thread title has a question mark, dear MH, which means that this statement is open to be questioned... and yes, you had changed the meaning of my writing when refering to it - into what you thought it would mean... (but didn't do so)
And another no for your assertion that the Chinese and Japanese market are "regular" markets for Indian movies...you can verify it yourself (but I guess you won't...it's easier to do an assertion not backed by facts one knows or has researched).
Quote me if you want me to go looking for your responses

Correct...but that was because of the sheer enormity of the Chinese market allowed because of the good impression Aamir left to the respective Chinese ministery and Chinese audience with 3 Idiots.
All the international records Wikipedia lists for Dangal are still valuable but solely because of 9000 screens and the success in China (where most Hindi movies never will land...just mentioned from my side for a fair comparison).
If one deducts the more than 1200 cr gross made in the Chinese market, the international gross collection comes to a more competitive number vis-a-vis other internationally successful Indian movies.
I am not even reading between the lines here; you are saying it.
What exactly is the point of this thread anyway? I only initially said Dangal made more than both of SRK's films combined, so SRK != the only actor touching (inter-) national benchmarks (?). You decided to dismiss Dangal and make a 'fair' comparison.
Like, okay, what do you want everyone to say here?
SRK is the greatest actor ever, no one else has even made a dent in the international market. I hope Pathaan and Jawaan land on 9000 screens each in China, I am sure they would both cross 500 million dollars in China. The folks of China deserve to be blessed with such cinematic masterpieces.
