Because his movies have a black-and-white nature. KANK had more nuance than RARKPK, but somewhere, he justified at least Rani's character.
Something like infidelity can be told without judgment. Case in point: Masoom. Audience will accept it because they're intelligent enough to know human emotions are complicated. Heck, most of them are human themselves.
Unfortunately, KJo has no respect for his audience. Also, he is somewhat lacking in depth. Combo results in RARKPK.

Thats the reason movie could not do good business. There was no need to make jaya aa dharam’s wife. they could have made her evil sister who did not let dharam and shabana marry in younger days and both are single/Widowed. but kjo being kjo
