Why does KJo romanticize cheating?? - Page 2

May be because while growing up in showbiz he saw things like that so it got normalised for him.

We have heard of so many actors cheating on their wife n still marriage is intact n actor comes back to family only so physical infidelity gets normalised.

Regarding the movie i didn't understood what they wanted to show with cheating part. They could have showed Dharmendra n Shabana having affair before marriage n both being widow or divorced but KJO chose EMA.

And why Jaya did that role it seems she wanted to show the world her life's real issue n reason for her frustration indirectly. Because comparison was inevitable.

Not to start anything, but I don't understand why KJo catches so much heat for showing leads who cheat. Like half the directors out there glamorizing gun violence, substance abuse, sexual harassment and what not, but KJo is the one who needs to be held accountable for his leads having an affair.

Because you can put a bullet through someone's head and smear their brain on the wall. You can cut someone's fingers off one by one using garden shears. Blow up a building, burn down a mall, mow down innocent civilians in a chase sequence. You can have a small military arsenal at your disposal and rack a kill count of hundreds per minute. Heck you could end life as we know it and engulf the entire globe in a nuclear winter. But God forbid you do something as sacrilegious and sinful as cheating.

I've noticed that about Indian movies and Indian movie fans. People are cool with gratuitous violence and practically revel in rape revenge fantasies. But when it comes to cheating, everyone gets squeamish.

I did find the Dharmendra/Shabana Azmi track in RARKPK weird and uncomfortable and mentioned it in my review. I actually appreciated KJo trying to make a movie like KANK, but I thought it was ruined by shoddy writing.

IMHO KJO isn't romanticizing cheating but trying to show a very realistic aspect of human relationships that often gets swept away. Cheating will always be morally wrong. But the fact is that some successful long-term romances and relationships do start with cheating. More couples than we can imagine have to grapple with some form of infidelity within the relationship.

Having a blasé attitude about cheating is probably nothing new within the industry and those who were raised in the industry. KJo is taking it one step further by glamorizing it in his movies. Maybe his life experiences affected him differently, or maybe in his own mind he’s making realistic honest cinema 🤷🏽‍♀️. With KJo who even knows?

I don’t say this maliciously or sardonically but Karan Johar is a full on psychological study. And I think this is something he has acknowledged to certain extent, in a manner of speaking that is. Despite being born with a silver spoon in his mouth, and seemingly having loving parents, I think his growing years were miserable for him mentally and emotionally.

Okay, English major!

Kjo wanted to prove a point tht the audience did KANK wrong, and the movie was perhaps ahead of its time thts the point he was trying to make for years and showed it with RARKPK. I heard ppl were clapping in those scenes of Dharamji and Shabana. I’m still one of those that couldn’t get past it, EMA is still a big No for me and I till date never revisited KANk.

Because he tries to show cheating in positive light n not negative.

In bajirao mastani too if u see YouTube clips ppl sympathise with Kashibai n hate bajirao n mastani. But it's a real story not fiction so SLB can't be bashed.

Violence n sexual harassment is done by villains n hero tries to get revenge so it's acceptable. Though pushpa too was bashed for violent n not saving women getting raped n saved heroine only she confessed love to him as he was hero though he was anti hero in movie. In bahubali too an article was in Hindu newspaper about how wrongly Mahendra bahubali forcing avantika to dress up glamourously n ugly warrior was not her but beautiful girl was her.

In Bhatt movies too he showed cheating was wrong n hurtful n puts hero in major problems Like arth, akhir kyon, The train n zeher, raaz etc.

David dhwan too made problematic movies like Sajan chale sasural n biwi no. 1 but social media wasn't woke then n he doesn't make such movies now. Coolie no.1 plot too was problematic as hero was fraud but new one was just a remake n hence flopped too in current times.
