On one hand, the usual suspects claim the threats are not doing any harm, and it's the content.

I agree with the content claim.

But I also see claims about boycotts working for Lal Singh Chadda.

So which is it? RW is trying to have it both ways.

Bottomline is this. Boycotts bots have zero power. When content movies come up with good entertainment factor as well, they succeed. Even if not well made. 😆 Brahmastra certainly wasn't well made, but it was hella entertaining.

In Pathan's case, there's really nothing great. Except SRK's magic. And yeah, tons of evidence out there that people are in fact celebrating it as a win over hateful elements.

The hate brigade lost, and they know it.

Yes, I share your hope BW doesn't immediately decide spectacle movies are the only way. Not holding my breath though. 😆 They hate hiring writers for reasons best known to them.

@bold — LSC not working was coz the movie was boring. It had good moments. but wasn’t entertaining enough. We left it half way. And we are movie buffs. I won’t leave movie half way if it’s interesting. I was watching Doctor G and my son woke up from nap and I couldn’t complete it. I finished it next day in my lunch break. 😛

RW handles on Twitter wants to claim that LSC didn’t work coz of them is to boost their ego. 😆

@Blue — agree wholeheartedly. If the protests mattered, Padmavat hadn’t worked. Before the release of Padmavat, RW was going berserk coz the rumor of Padmavati romancing Khilji. And after the movie released, Left was going berserk coz they showed khilji for the brutal ruler that he was. Both far left and far right is always hellbent on pushing their narratives.

Some politicians jump the ship and starts the whole stupid outrage over bikini. But at large audiences are not black n white. They can differentiate.

Let’s cross fingers for Bollywood creating something original which has that Bollywood element. Recent threads about fav Bollywood movies from 2000 to 2012 had me so nostalgic about the Bw magic. For me, I will anyday pick Bw over hw.

I see it as - he came out of his lean phase and won over his failures. Culture has always been on his side.

Although I personally hate this Pathaan hairstyle and unkempt look. But if it worked, well good for him.

That is not a pro Pak thing but rather an insult and dig at Pakistan that their own ISI agent helped an Indian one and turned traitor to own nation. ETT did same by showing Pakistani heroine in love with Indian hero.

Amused how people call it insult to India. When it is a dig at Pakistan that their own agents are not loyal to own nation and fall for Indian agents.

Same way that terrorist turned good guy in LSC is a dig at Pakistan with dialogues on religious radicalisation by preachers targeting young boys and showing that he goes back to his country to educate and save young boys from radicalisation. How is that pro Pak?

Rather these films have covertly taunted Pakistan and shown Indians and India will always be bigger and have moral high ground and that Pakistanis can't help it but become friends with or fall in love with Indians.

Agreed. A lot of people in real life disliked his unkempt hairstyle which was weird and made him look wasted. Pathaan's success is a surprise given how many mocked his look and called him names when first pics released.

Is it me or he looks tired nowadays? Somehow his eyes do not reflect the sparkle he used to have earlier when he smiled for fans and media. I hope success of his film makes him feel better. His immense silence and patience paid off.

He doesn't sleep at night and they have been screening movie for friends and family for days now.

He will start shooting for Dunki soon, he'll be well rested and fresh soon, you can see he is relaxed for now
