Well u urself questioned why the fans are speaking the way they are and why they can’t be more “realistic” in their praise…so that’s what I answered …that all fans speak that way when their favourite sees a success

Similarly there are enough trolls who downplay all her achievements too…proclaiming her to be “finished”, or that she will “burn 200 crores at the box office” (which is again an exaggeration)

There is extreme hate for the extreme praise too …

Looks like those trolls didn’t influence people enough for this movie to become a flop 😀…

Madhuri probably has 3 critically acclaimed performances in her 25+ year career. She was great as a commercial actress...the dance, the nakhras, the last female superstar... but nobody was mistaking her for Tabu, Smita Patil, Sridevi or giving her national awards.

Exactly....Madhuri is a good actor no doubt....but Alia is definitely better than her and yes its my opinion.....and to think that Madhuri is Meena Kumari is also an opinion...😆.....No one compared Alia to the greats like Sridevi or Tabu or Smita Patil.....no one in their right mind would....but Alia is definitely better than Madhuri....Madhuri was/is a superstar...that stardom Alia probably won't be able to touch...Madhuri is an amazing dance...Alia can't be even 10% of that...Madhuri is gorgeous....Alia can only dream of being that gorgeous....but when it comes to ACTING...Alia is way better than Madhuri..

and yes Kangna is definitely better than Madhuri so is Priyanka and Vidya..

Art is subjective.

Dancing to a great extent is not. There is technique involved.

Nor are box office numbers subjective. If distributor is criteria, it should be so across the board.

But Alia was being called a better dancer than Madhuri and bigger box office draw than a few of the legends.

Even with acting, very few will get away with favorably comparing Varun Dhawan to Nawazuddin Siddiqui. That's what's happening with Alia and the other powerhouse actors she's being compared to.

At this point, Alia's one major advantage is everyone else plain sucks. That's it.
