SPOILER and why do you think alisha in future might not reveal everything or when she feels confident to reveal ? even tia spilled all the secret when she felt it was convenient, even though she very well knew how alisha was suffering and having total wrong impression about mother’s issues.. tia could have told her isnt it ? so , each of the characters are selfish here and who in the world isnt ?there is a reason we got that open ending .. we can take it however we want .
Wowwww open ending rakhlo… ek aisa ending where Tia could be seen having a breakdown knowing the truth was not shown… only one scene where Ananya could be given a moment to shine and show her acting was taken away from her… a moment in the movie where Alisha’s character could be shown wrong and selfish was not shown… lagta hai movie banai gayiii hai just to showcase Deepika’s non exhistent acting talent… movie ka logic jaaye bhaad mein

Gehraiyaan took me five hours to finish. Lord Almighty, it was so slow and gloomy. I had to start fast-forwarding scenes just to finish it. Deepika acted well. This is definitely her film. In saying that, I’ll never watch the movie again.
However, if you know someone who’s cheating or considering it, then get them to watch this film. It’ll turn anyone off because fuck what they went through with a capital F. I was chugging my coke zero down just to cope with my own anxiety.
My mums review was that Deepika is very sexy sexy. That’s her way of saying there was quite a few kissing scenes and thy mum was both shooketh and scandalised. 😂❤️
It took me ALL weekend to watch it too! The first 45 mins are so SLOW, that's all I could manage on Friday night. Tried again on Saturday and couldn't do it. Sunday night vibes, managed to get through it all.
So glad, because the second half of the film is incredible.
All the lead and supporting performances are brilliant. I didn't like some elements, like the first attempts at showing some thriller moments because it changes the tone of the film.
I really loved the ending. With the last 30 seconds, you think that after everything that's happened, Alisha might be able to leave her past behind her, but with 5 seconds to go, that old lady pops up to F things up for her.
Amazing.
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Spoiler Alert
Why should her anxiety issue be touched in that much detail to show even the treatment procedures ?The movie isnt about that. Its one of the issues she has , doesn't mean movie has to be centered around her treatment. Many in India still dont go for therapy for multitude of reasons. So this argument to diss the movie feels like out of line to me. Naseer's character must have wanted to save their marriage or another option was to leave the wife. May be he chose the later option. He went against her will ofc but no where there is whitewashing of the characters like you mentioned, we do feel sorry for the situation they all have landed up but no where we feel empathy coz we know they all messed up big time. Another thing about Alisha should have told Tia doesn't make sense at that juncture. What good would it have done to anyone? Just to satisfy the moral compass ? Even Tia was selfish to hide such big secret and only came out in open when it felt convenient to her . Even with her ex bf , with or without zain that relationship had no future. Zain just was a catalyst to end it earlier. So why exactly should see feel sorry for ex bf here . I dont get it. Yes, moving on indeed was the best option. She did a mistake doesn't mean she needs to ruin her life for that mistake. Thats exactly what her mom was unable to do .
Tia owed nothing to Alisha. She loved her own mom and saw her go through trauma because of what Alisha's mom did. Why should she feel sympathetic to her father's love child? She had every right to care for her own mom's feelings.

Exactly. I dont understand people giving a free pass to Ananya's character Cheating is not the only sin you know- how about robbing your sibling and blood relative of her birth right? That doesn't somehow make you selfish?
I like that the film has shown all characters as flawed.
Like I said, Tia didn't owe Alisha anything. Her mom went through severe trauma because Alisha's mom stole her husband. So why should Tia feel obligated to Alisha. Would you feel anything for your dad's illegitimate child? No, right? If I was Tia, I would've refused to even see Alisha's face ever.
Alisha was much, much, much more flawed.
I watched it this weekend. I really liked it and so did the wifey and her sis. What truly worked was the story telling and the visuals. The infidelity angle was present but it was still a fairly small part of the narrative, and handled well. The second half was edge of the seat stuff, although we did guess the twist correctly. Still, the editing and the script were super tight in the second half. IF the first half had been better edited and scripted, it would have elevated the movie from good to great.
Performances were very good. DP was simply amazing. I was surprised at how good Ananya was, considering this is the first movie I have watched of hers. She is nothing extra ordinary, but definitely seems like a better actor than her other nepo peers like Sara and Jahnvi. Sid was good as well, but you could see a couple of chinks in his performance this time (unlike Gully boy, where he played the role perfectly). He really could not sell the intensity of a guy down on his luck - when he shouts out in frustration, it felt very meek. Naseeruddin Shah, as always, steals the
What I am disappointed with is how the trailer was cut. I get the idea that they do not want to reveal important plot points in the trailer and give off any hints, but this has to be one of the worst set of trailers EVER for a movie. Focusing only on the intimate scenes was really dumb and alienated a good chunk of the audience. Moreover, after the movie you understand what DP meant by 'not judging people', but the trailer totally doesn't do justice to that sentiment
Solid 3.5/5
And honestly, to the people complaining about intimate scenes and "hawas" AFTER watching the movie - it actually says a lot more about you than the movie. Because those scenes are there for like 5% of the movie. There is so much more going on. It's okay to find it boring and annoying, or even pointless and hating it for legitimate reasons. But cribbing about kissing scenes either shows your obtuse mindset or that you are just basing everything on the trailers 😎
Yeah? But pfffffft! do not worry too much.
To counter attack, for every one movie made by the likes of DP/KJo/Alia (using their own money) that shows too much adulting, they make s... I mean thousands of very informative, real and totally upstanding, positive and informative material like Pushpa and thalaivi...now those THOSE are flicks! with no wrong msg, Yes Sir, not a one wrong msg in those flicks pumped out on a daily basis... Those will save and guide the young gen in the direction, the society beacons have been leading India's public and keeping them entertained, because after all Indian people need to be told what is proper to watch, you can't leave the choices for them to make, if left free they may go watch trash like Gehraiyaan ...well... and no can do...because mental issues, anxiety, secrets, cheating, corruption, se x etc... do not happen in India with 1.3B people. The storks deliver the babies.
By the way you may hear that the very moral and decent young lady kangana is criticizing her counterparts just like you, for making p...o and leading the youth astray! Imagine that! She being so brazen...I mean brave.... Because you see, she is justified in doing far worse and showing much more skin, because she has the backing of the very fair moral police who's secret panel picks what should be seen by the public when they are not busy giving out national awards. They count such great works as Shoot out at Walala as Art and a social service, financed by: @#@ $#^% and you the tax payers.
Namaste.

Well..the makers wanted to use it as the selling point. The trailer was cut out in a specific manner..pre release promotions mentioned how they shot those scenes how difficult it was, how they hired a director specifically for the purpose. Why did they do all this promotion for scenes which r like 5% of the movie?
If people were put off by all this then rightly so.. can't blame them right? Coz that's how it was projected. Trailers r a showcase to the kind of movie they r presenting..and here it projected a deviated picture..
