If you dislike gym, may be try a physical activity that you enjoy?

If no exercising at all, then focus on your diet since 80 to 85% of weight loss comes from your diet!

Also "logging food" - This itself makes you quite focused and keeps you ok track!

Thank you everyone for the practical advice

I will try to follow all the tips

for me, I just cannot exercise so I'm gonna reduce eating and concentrate on healthy food. Just once a week, I'll indulge myself. I hope that works.

I love good food but I also like looking good, so it's a dilemma.

What advice would you give me, CONSIDERING the fact that I'm the last person to hit the gym. I'm just too lazy.

Looking forward to some practical tips from the health freaks out there.

I was just gonna say just accept your body as it is and chill..stay happy and u will be automatically healthy😊..but realized that's not the advice u r looking for.

Seriously if u aren't as much overweight so as to raise health concerns..don't think much.

Find a cycling group or a friend who would like to take a walk with u..even I don't like gym..but take daily walks and ride a bicycle. Make a routine and stick to it.

Do NOT overeat..eat everything in moderation..if u have a habit of having tea coffee skip sugar in it. Beverages and processed food form a major part of our sugar intake.

Just small things to maintain ur weight..once u get into a routine and have motivating peers and friends u will get into a habit of exercising.

Edit: never think about losing weight quickly

Going to the gym can be daunting to a lot of people, health freaks don’t represent the masses. It does take motivation to go to the gym and can be intimidating. So my advice is to find an activity that you enjoy that will make you active several days/week: take up dance classes for example, do power walks every day while listening to your favourite tunes, etc. Once your mind start seeing « exercise » in a positive light I think your mindset will naturally change and you can consider more intense activities. Attending group classes vs solo is highly motivating too. I also found that the time you choose to be active plays a big part: I’m not a morning person so I found that forcing myself to exercise in the morning was counterproductive so I go to the gym after work (8pm) 3X per week. And don’t listen to people advising you to not eat beforehand. I’m a foodie too and can’t focus on an empty stomach so I make sure I eat something light 1h before I exercise (boiled eggs, nice smoothie etc)

And yes, diet is also important. Make sure you eat less carbs, less sugar, less fried food and eat more vegetables, fish and chicken breast. You don’t need to starve yourself, healthy food can be tasty too.

Good luck darling x

The best thing that worked for me was intermittent fasting. I started with a 6 hr window then reduced it to 4.

After my body was use to the fasting I added workouts. I don't like gym and following those workout videos got real boring for me so I started skipping. Jump rope has been my go-to since a year now. Started out with 500 a day to slowly 2000 a day.

Intermittent fasting and jump rope helped me lose 15kgs in 3 months. Which is 10 pounds per month.

But the biggest issue is building a healthy relationship with food. What helped me was finding fun recipes that were healthy too. I followed all these vegan/vegetarian pages, health pages that always kept me motivated.

Healthy food doesn't have to be boring. There are so many accounts on insta that have recipes that are tasty and healthy. I'm a vegetarian so tofu/panner was my bestfriend for protein. If you eat meat then you can always incorporate meat to a good recipe.

And it's okay to indulge and have fried food or chocolate 1-2x a week. It's about moderation.

Also a good way to stop yourself from binge eating or eating junk at a random time is to watch mukbang videos. Watching people eat noodles/pizza really helped me from giving into eating during my initial week of fasting.

I’ve tried every diet in the world and basically the only thing that worked for me was restricting my calorie intake. I would eat 800-900 calories a day (any type of food, so long as it stayed within my limit). Also for a month, I cut off bread, pasta, rice, and potato. I lost weight very quickly because of this.

This year, I’ve started going back to the gym. I hate exercising just so you know. Only way I get my ass glued to the machine is by watching Kamli on repeat. Every-time I want to give up, I look at Katrina Kaif and force myself to continue. I also use my imagination to conjure up random scenarios to keep myself going. For example:

  • When I’m on the rowing machine, I pretend that I’m rowing my boat through a Tsunami, and the faster I row, the higher my chances of surviving.
  • To stay motivated on the step up/staircase machine, I pretend that a very slow ghost is climbing up the stairs after me and trying to grab my ankle. I must not stop otherwise I’ll get dragged down.
  • I usually vibrate like an old Nokia phone when I’m planking. I either have to pretend that the floor is lava or that my family is held hostage, and the only way they’ll survive is if I continue my planking position for two extra minutes. 8/10 times my family gets killed off.

Anyway you get my point. I have a scenario for every type of exercise and that’s the only way I’ve lasted this whole time. See if it works for you. 😆

Stick HR's topless pic in your fridge ( guess you already might have and in other places too) and imagine you have a date with him in 3 months

That would stop you from eating every time you try to open the fridge

Also put his pics in whatever exercise equipments U have at home like treadmill, elliptical, spinning bike, weights etc. You would use them more
