Sooner or later Ash will become like Jaya Bachchan. But perhaps less frustrated than her because her husband is not openly cheating on her the way Amitabh ran behind Rekha, Parveen, Amrita despite being married to Jaya and being dad of 2 kids.

Apparently senior Bachchans are also not happy that they have no grandson. Amitabh was keen on a male heir.

I do not blame Ash if she hardly does much work in films or ads now or looks sad. Bachchans are a restrictive family specially for their women.

Women are generally expected to look "happy" and smile all the time... and who better to have been at the receiving end of that flawed ideology than me. I don't smile naturally and have no idea how some people walk around with a jack-o-lantern grin on their faces at all times. I have this "resting bitch face" that causes some people to assume that I'm pissed at them when I'm just going about my day, minding my own biz. 😆Some go far enough to say "Smile, Jesus loves you."

So... it's very possible there's absolutely nothing wrong here but who I am to stop people from speculating and making far-fetched theories on her less-than-cheerful face in public. 😆

How is that related to evil patriarchal Bachchans? They can't dictate to a brand about who they should hire. Aishwarya has been in retirement for years. She's just not that relevant anymore. Initially, they dropped her and hired Katrina. Recently there was an ad with Shweta probably because they wanted to capitalize on a father-daughter pairing.

Karishma Kapoor is getting ads in retirement but it's not like they're huge brands or that she's earning enormous amounts. She is probably okay with signing on for small brands and lesser money. Aish's problem is that she considers herself an A-lister so if the offers don't match up to what she considers herself to be, she won't say yes. That means she doesn't end up doing many ads and it's okay for her because she's rich enough to not need it. Karishma is a single mother and would want to maintain her lifestyle and that requires working.

Aish is not a poor bechari whose life was ruined by the Bachchans. She knew what she was getting into and she is satisfied.

And I disagree with the original post here saying she looks sad. People just can't handle seeing women age. The reality is that the skin starts sagging after a certain age and it can have a dramatic impact on your face depending on your features. Eyelids and lips become more downturned because the collagen starts lessening. It can give a sadder appearance without the person being sad at all. No amount of botox or fillers really hides age. You can have a totally wrinkle free face but you will still look old if you are. The only thing that actually helps are surgical procedures like eye lifts and full face lifts.

Omg this. I'm sick of people telling me to cheer up. What feels like a grin in my head is apparently a vague smile and I can do nothing about it. I'm told I have the RBF and my tone is supposed to be unfriendly and snooty. Going to weddings is a nightmare. When you get older people go from the Wtf Is Your Problem Now look to the Aww You'll Find Somebody Too look. Maybe we should take acting classes or something lol

It's a classic case of expectation vs reality.

Okay, maybe I don't look as pissed as the girl on the right and I'm sure you don't either. 😆 but clearly enough to get people all up our business.

I avoid weddings like the plague if I can help it but I know the kinds of uncles and aunties you're talking about. It's been bliss at least in that regard ever since people started exchanging vows virtually. 😆
