And that is your preference.. I can respect that and that's about it ..😆

On public ( or private) forums , if anyone is using "desirability" as a tool to bash a certain section of people then it is without a doubt bigotry .. but that is entirely different from one's sexuality which is an innate part of one's being ..

Well not really, you don't need to bash a certain section to be bigoted. Beliefs, opinions, preferences can be bigoted. I don't need respect for my preference, I can challenge them on my own. Not sure what you mean by this reply. Nitpicking here but innate part means nothing on its own. Unless you mean genetically predisposed or something.

Yes you are...right from the start of this thread..😳.that is the reason people are trying to justify their " sexual preference" which no one should have to justify because its "natural"....as natural for the homosexuals preferring their own gender as their sex partners...there is nothing to be ashamed of in that...just like there is nothing to be ashamed of in not having a sexual preference for effeminate men......like I said before sexual preference is different than gender discrimination..

No I didn't. I asked a question about people's personal preference. Someone made a claim that no straight women would like effeminate men which felt like a "justification" to me and it all started from there.

Then going on to justify it further using terms like nature, evolution etc. feels like deep down people feel guilty for their choices.

@ bold : you made a topic on "effeminate" men .. surely you have an idea about "masculinity " ? .. or "femininity" ? .. anything ? .. nope ? .. 😕

Society didn't create this thread or topic , you did .. but then again , you are a part of this society.. so there you go .. 😆

The question about desirable traits of effeminate men wasn't for you. It was for Heisenberg and based on the context of the ongoing argument with him.

But you answered it anyway saying effeminate men don't have masculine traits, which is an obvious thing.

But what is masculinity or femininity is defined by society. Not pseudo science which Heisenberg was using to justify why most women don't like effeminate men.

Yes I created this thread asking a question, and you all answered. Because you all are part of the society as well.

It depends if you're attracted to them, then why not!

Also, I don't think you like someone only based on their looks or certain labels. There are many variables involved when you find someone attractive. So regardless of whether they are tomboyish or effeminate you'll like them for who they are!

About the sexual preference debate, yes it does have to do with your innate behaviour but it also has an element of social conditioning on what is considered desirable or attractive. I don't think one can neglect societal shaping of our psyche!

I really dont believe in effiminate or tomboy, I just believe they are who they are and wearing or behaving in a manner that is natural them and we fall for people for who they and not for who we want them to be. I myself have a 4 year old boy who loves make up, posing in model poses (I have no idea where he saw it) and really loves dolls but is equally happy playing with anything else also, just that this pops out to everyone who sees him because of the gender construct but as a mother I am completely okay. My daughter couldn't care less for dolls, it was only when she saw other girls she started asking for them but again never played with them. Those are the dolls my son is playing with now. I believe in gender neutral parenting as far as behavior is concerned and let the child choose how to behave rather than girls don't do this or boys don't do this. Am a mother for a girl 16 years old and two boys 4 and 6 years old, so this has been my experience. On the flip side my husband who is a 6 footer giant and extremely "masculine" by social standards is completely at ease stitching clothes, folding and ironing clothes--all of these are his share of work in the house and I being a woman cannot stitch a button and he is okay with that. So in my home we don't follow social gender norms. Just everybody does what comes naturally to them and they are encouraged to do what they are good at irrespective of gender.
