Goodness are they that dumb or sheer ignorance that drives them, no idea

Or just... plain jealousy 😆

The barber shop example is idiotic.

One is a business, the other is a career.

Let's go further with the barber shop example (as a business);

If father is a barber, son is a barber - son will likely inherit the business because it makes the most sense.

If father is a barber, son has no interests in becoming a barber - father will either have the business managed by someone who can manage it OR sell it.

Let's look at the doctor (career)

If I become a doctor, can I leave my doctorate to my child so s/he can skip med school and become a doctor? No.

Zoya started as AD in tv show (1995), second AD (1998/1999), AD in DCH (2001) and in Lakshya (2004) and finally as director in luck by chance (2009) after several tries to get some big names for her debut in 2005-2007.

I dont know about which big budget movie you are talking about

Another day... another lame "analogy" to justify nepotism/bullying/cronyism.

It will never make sense cuz it's simply not worth defending folks!

I have no idea why Zoya and Gully Boy in particular triggers so many people. Is there something specific about the film that has triggered them? Why is it always targeted like this?

I have seen 8 Mile and there were hardly any similarities apart from the fact that it is about a rapper's journey from the wrong side of the tracks to stardom and there is a rap battle in it. That's hardly a new concept- all rappers and musicians' stories usually have this 'rags to riches' aspect.

And I can think of many overhyped films in the past few years that were praised to the hilt- Padmavat, Simmba, Rockstar, Ram Leela, even a Badhai Ho. To say nothing of the terrible Manikarnika. Why are people so pressed about Gully Boy specifically?

Zoya is incredibly talented and her show Made In Heaven written by Reema and her just got nominated for an acting Emmy. Arjun Mathur did the work obviously but they wrote Karan's amazing role so obviously there is real talent there.

It broke the record for the amount of filmfare awards won by 1 film. It overtook 15 year record of the movie Black

But these are filmfare awards hardly anyone even pays attention to

An I enjoyed GB hell of a lot more than Black. Nothing I enjoy less than watching movies with handicapped protagonists contemplating meaning of life (shit is so boring) ❤️
