I have no idea why Zoya and Gully Boy in particular triggers so many people. Is there something specific about the film that has triggered them? Why is it always targeted like this?
I have seen 8 Mile and there were hardly any similarities apart from the fact that it is about a rapper's journey from the wrong side of the tracks to stardom and there is a rap battle in it. That's hardly a new concept- all rappers and musicians' stories usually have this 'rags to riches' aspect.
And I can think of many overhyped films in the past few years that were praised to the hilt- Padmavat, Simmba, Rockstar, Ram Leela, even a Badhai Ho. To say nothing of the terrible Manikarnika. Why are people so pressed about Gully Boy specifically?
Zoya is incredibly talented and her show Made In Heaven written by Reema and her just got nominated for an acting Emmy. Arjun Mathur did the work obviously but they wrote Karan's amazing role so obviously there is real talent there.
