ya obviously many people enjoy bollywood dance. I was giving my own opinion. I always found dance in bollywood unnecessary.

Yes, but as someone who loves classical dance.. its a delight to watch Vyjanthimala, Madhuri, Aish on screen. I'd watch a movie just for that.

It depends on the role, and while its not a compulsory skill. Its an added advantage. I personally love such genres so..

DP is a fine dancer (awesome in Diwani Mastani etc) but I was miffed in her performance of Mohe Rang Do laal. Sorry as you are fan but gave me an eyesore.

The steps may look easy but it takes YEARS to get the posture correct, the grace and all.

If Aish and Deepika are bad actresses then how is Aloo bitiya such a phenomenal Meryl Streep level great actress by the same standards? 🤔🤔

Also cute how she’s suddenly decided to start throwing her friend Deepika under the bus after the recent events 😒👏🏽

Plus this annoying woman actually looked the highest of the lot in that infamous Kjo party video, I’d be very disappointed if she doesn’t get called by NCB soon!

Its the systematic bullying , unabashed and unfair lobbying , defaming outsiders using clout among many things we know of and dont know .

Did you see Ranbir's acting and dialogue delivery in sawariya and bachana e haseeno ? it was so flat ... its because of his so called looks(take away his fair skin ...indians willnever give him second look) he was declared next superstar without a single release.

I dont see Zoya talking about Ranbir or Alia so dismissively. These people recently threw us a challege " to find better actors then Alia and Ranbir" . Even Daniel day and robin williams level actors are not this pompous.

Sonam is so beautiful...but you cannot stand her on screen even for 5 mins...she has beauty, height, kapoor tag ...what she does not have that a BW heroine shud i.e "screen presence" . Something that Katrina and Deepika have. Many beautiful ppl do not have it...the only thing that matters...even more than good looks.

Kjo has lobbied away many roles for Alia where other actresses were in final talks ... by his usual Dharma and A lister- elite circle, media promotions pitch. NO , Alia is not a brilliant actress. She did try a 'Deepika' in Kalank and it was pukeworthy.

Its the charater artists who breathe life into the films. They do the job of setting the stage and taking audience slowly into the world of the film...most of the times.

again, flat dialogue delivery , screen presence , acting talent are all subjective things ...
U might think someone is shit and someone else might disagree and they can

It’s totally fair for a producer to think actor A is good despite u thinking otherwise ...

So what is this merit we are asking filmmakers to consider When making casting choices when the “merit “ is based on an individuals opinion?
indiciduals are biased. That’s how humans are. They aren’t computers and this isn’t an equation where 1+1 =2 and there is no other correct answer

U can think aliaa shit and U have ur reasons and can be correct in your own way

I can think aliaa is talented and have my own reasons and also be correct

At the end of the day we have control on our investment on whom we think is talented...not on somebody else’s...and neither can we dictate their opinions

Indian movies are like musical. No dance means we are talking of a format of story telling that is not Bollywood.

we have charater artistes for that and they do an amazing job that will put our top heroines out of their jobs.

Pretty sure Deepika's aspiration is to be be the commercial herione that she is . In padmaavat movie 'Ghoomar' was her selling point...she had very little to do role wise.

This is entertainment industry in its core... audience know where to go if they only want to see acting chops or niche cinema.

She's not completely wrong but why mention just two actress name?? Katrina kaif, siddharth malhotra are worse than both DP and Ash even alia was a cringe to watch in Soty and same goes for varun, ananya, tiger and shraddha.. Pretty face but when it comes to acting it's mediocre at the best..

Bitter truth is Bollywood has always given priority to pretty face or nepotism over real talent

Zoya better not get me started on her below average movie gully boy that won so many awards for God knows what 😆

I agree with you. There is a lot at play that is aubjective. But not so much that a movie like 'Kalank ' or 'Race 3' can be called great cinema...no matter how subjective art or one's taste is.

You might find 'Jog falls ' more beautiful than 'Niagara' ....I will take it. But i wont take it if you say some galli sweage is ... however subjective.

You can say Alia and Ranbir did well in some movie ....calling them Brilliant everyday and the same song is sung by every single reviewer and Director /producer . Throwing us challenge to find better is hardly subjective .

I said " Alia is not a Brilliant actress" never said she isnt tolerable in some. There are not many brilliant people in any field . Its a rare phenomenon. You cannot use words like " Brillaint", "Genius" and yet say its subjective.

Getting roles due to beauty/good looks can’t be compared in ANY WAY WHATSOEVER with nepotism!

Cinema is a visual medium so of course audience are going to want to see people with attractive/interesting faces on screen...

Yes I agree that acting talent is much more important... I would rather watch an actor who isn’t conventionally good looking but acts brilliantly then an actor who is stunningly beautiful but a horrible actor...

But the point is that the actors who were first noticed for their looks were at least noticed for SOMETHING! What can we say for the likes of Alia, Jahnvi, Arjun, Sonam... what do they have? Looks? Screen presence? Talent? What is exceptional about these people, besides their connections??
