Watched the first half, enjoyed it and laughed a lot that fountain scene how amazing Sush timing is in that scene

Just watched it and will give unbiased and honest review.

First of all I have to give credit to the set designer for making the movie look so beautiful. It truly looks like a Disney movie. Now coming to the story the movie although an official remake is quite lighter than the original. It's actually pretty cute. Sanjana gives a strong performance and Sushant is adorable as Manny (I know he wasn't the best actor but his charm and the way he makes his characters so lovable cannot be denied). Chhabra took liberty and added his own flavor to the story but it never felt cringy. I actually was afraid that he would end up making it cheesy and very Bollywoody but I was pleasantly surprised.The second half felt bit rushed though and it made the emotional scenes less impactful. The songs didn't click with me when the album was released but they sit pretty well with the theme of the movie.

Overall it's definitely a movie that can be watched again and again.

All i did was cry cry cry from starting to till the end coz of sush and smiled a little in between coz of manny.in the last scene i was imagining sush in place of manny.he must have gone through the same pain not physically but emotionally 💔oh sush keep shining my brightest star.will always cherish the memories i had with u during pavitra rishta and jhalak dikhlaa jaa my most fav dancer in indian tv sushhhh❤️🤗

The hospital scene broke my heart.. app log sab chale jao... meye thik hoon..

I wish we could rich SSR and say hum hamesha aapke saath hai... just like how she says to him... I wish there was a kizie in SSR’s life...

I found so many uncanny similarity between reel and real..

Best performed scene I guess is the movie hall scene where he is struggling and the scene with kizie’s Father where he says kizie khwaish to itni choto hai.. usse pura karne ka mann karta hai...

I don't feel seri at all!

His beautiful smiles just don't end in the film and the heart keeps breaking at the realization that we won't be seeing them again. Main tumhara hits you like a cyclone and each time it played I felt the urge to jump into the screen and give him the tightest hug. That smile didn't deserve to fade away the way it did. When Saif spoke those dialogues, I felt as uncomfortable and sad as Manny did in that scene. Oh, Sushant! How are those who love you supposed to live without you?

The scene where he has his head on his grandma's lap and is all curled up and his parents come in broke something inside me. Also, the rain and beer scene between Kizzie's Dad and Manny was so touching. Both of them were brilliant.

AR Rehman has done a great job with the music. The songs just fit so well. Main tumhara has all the broken pieces of my heart 💔

I wish I could delete this 'last' word and what it means. I wish I could delete what happened to Sushant. I wish I could delete the pain that he felt. I wish he knew how much people love and adore him. I wish so so many things. It is just so painful...all of this.

How does one expect an honest review of this movie? And how is it even fair ? Do you review a baby's first art 'honestly?' No right??

He didn't know it was going to be his last film! He didn't even read the script before signing it and did it only to keep his words that he gave to his friends!

Why can't we honor his words?

People can not like the film and it is fine! It's natural , but just like how you don't go singing death songs to a family who has lost someone , you can't put forward your honest opinion on someone's last work as it mmay hurt a lot of sentiments.

If you want have a review , watch it and have your own.

There are many.. many people who are still grieving. Still not over his loss and still are hurting. And how is it fair to ask them about an unbiased opinion of this movie where we all know the smiling face sets down?

My dearest Sush.

You broke my heart in so many pieces as Manny and still each piece was only hurting more for your pain. Not as Manny , but as yourself.

You said Manny had so many big dreams but he didn't wish to fullfill them anymore. I know you had bigger dreams than Manny and I know you didn't wish to fullfill them anymore. 💔

Manny taught love and art of living to kizie, and you Sushant, taught the World how to be a better person.

I no longer admire Augustus Sushant.

He was a fictional character.

I know *tu mera sitara ban gaya* but I so wish it wasn't true. I would rather have you here than up above the world so high.

It was an emotional goodbye to Sushant, especially the last 20 minutes which was eerily similar to what happened in real life, esp during the screening of the film scene and us watching the film at the same time. Only makes you ask why Sushant why? I know the answer is difficult to find but wasn't there any solution except death? One can only wonder until they actually are in the person's shoes I guess. Hope wherever he is he finds his peace and is free of all the pain. Really a very emotional swan song of Sushant!

Barring that honestly it was evident why the film was stuck for so long and why they were going for a digital release. The screenplay is extremely weak and one tone, the full film is very dull. Don't know why did they make that whole cafe scene with Saif so overdramatic. Not a fan of the original either but was still moved while watching the original but in this case was only moved due to Sushant and not the actual film. Sanjana was pretty meh too, wish they had casted a better actress. Also the whole Dil Bechara song was so random!

And this film also showed why AR Rahman is and will be legendary maestro. His songs and tunes single handedly lifts up most of the sub par scenes in the film. I also really liked the guy playing Manny's friend. I think he was also in the Dulhania series as Varun's friend. Anyways after all of this I only wonder no matter how bad this film was for me, what made the producers think of releasing this on digital while releasing an absolute trashy film like Kalank in theatres? I guess the answer is the what is wrong with this industry!

Also thank you Chabra for showing the beautiful Jamshedpur onscreen again. I guess so many years after Udaan did we see a BW film set in the lovely city of Jamshedpur! ❤️
