Although I certainly won't watch it, I wish appreciation for the endeavour to showcase another chapter of Indian war-history
Being a grandchild of an army officer, I have heard of war stories right from my childhood...
One name that had always fascinated me as a child was Shaitan Singh Bhati. Like who names someone Shaitan?
But his valour stories were a shut up to the giggles of an uninformed child, as my Grandfather himself from the Kumaoni Regiment, served the Indo-China 1962 War, but at a different base shared tidbits from the experience...
It was my father who used to then tell me about those heroic people who sacrificed themselves for the nation. He even explained me the feel of the day when people from the army came to take my grandfather for the 1962 war. It was an afternoon, and the entire neighborhood came out of their houses to see their army neighbour leaving for the war.
It's not as easy as it seems... Chest feels tight, there's tension around in the adults and with a heavy heart you have to say a good-bye in the hope of meeting your dear one again.
So, to me this movie was the picturisation to the stories that I've heard in my childhood, not quite remembering the exact details, and seeing that come on screen... An excellent portrayal... And Farhan Akhtar is not celebrated much for the hardwork he puts to become a certain character... What after Milkha Singh... He has done a fine role of Major Shaitan Singh Bhati.
Kudos to the entire team of 120 Bahadur...
Jo shaheed huye hain unki... Zara yaad Karo qurbani...
According to reports from Free Press Journal, 120 Bahadur will begin streaming on Amazon Prime Video from January 16, 2026.
not the masses...they have enough to do with their lost struggles in daily life... so, at least, the nation should appear as a winner on screen...
