It doesn't matter if there are a string of catastrophic outcomes that are testaments of agenda driven PR, character assassination, openly glorified bitchfests, superiority complex, aggression and singling out that exists in the industry, those people's atmosphere had NOTHING to do with it ... it was their and only their personal shortcomings. But Gosh darn it, let's not accuse those high handed snoots and their power abuse, that's normal, and acceptable, let's only focus on achieving nirvana.😳

Yeah..you keep defending the system just because the folks who have money can do what they want with it, even if it means mediocre af at times and even if it means propagating unethical shit. Having money apparently means you can do whatever the f you want with while not getting called out!

You are going in circles repeating the same crap that makes no sense. Art cannot be quantified. If a director likes a certain actor and thinks they're the best, it's their choice! Karan might think Alia is the greatest young actress and nobody can fight with him on that. He can choose to spend on her as much as he wants. You cannot force him to spend on someone else. You have zero right over someone else's money. There is no such thing as "equal opportunity" over private funds. Even if your neighbor's kid gets into Harvard and you get into community college, your parents will pay only for your community college, not for the Harvard student even if he is 10 times smarter.

You can fight for equal opportunity in government, not in something like this.

You can keep whining but there are millions of people who are much worse off than Sushant in every aspect in life. He was privileged and doing well in life. He had to face gossip like everyone else in the profession. Focus on mental health and it might actually help others instead of using his death to run agendas and spread hate on hundreds of others.

I agree with the fact that there is no quantifiable metric to “qualify” becoming an actor

One sees and auditon and reacts to it...things like screen presence, looks, ability t on emote, dialogue delivery and suiting the part are discussed but none of these are quantifiable metrics...no one is sitting there with a mark sheet assigning 2 marks per criteria and picking the one with the highest marks

getting an opportunity to work itself is defined by how much someone “connected” to u or “liked u” or your audition on a criteria That is entirely subjective ...u might hate an audition that some else likes....it’s not based on any quantifiable merit like marks, certificates etc Which remain the same wherever u go

How does one ensure that “merit “ is considered when the metrics to judge are qualitative not quantitative ?
qualitative is subjective judgement ...there is most definitely going to be favouritism in a field like this and as compared to a company job which has a cut off percentage (an absolute metric)

There is no way to completely desensitise the selection process and make it objective

Oh... also, just cuz other's have it "worse" doesn't take away from the pain people go through in their lives. That does nothing except amplifying the guilt that probably already is there for even feeling bad despite having it "all." You have the right to feel however you want regardless of what others have been through relative to your experience. You don't Invalidate what you go through by comparing it to something worse, do you? Your challenges are a challenge to you, and that makes them valid. Period.

Interesting school of thought regardless.

Nothing is going to change in BW!

Many people are happy living in a bubble in BW and want this issue to go away ASAP!

If anything, SSR’s death is a lesson for newcomers who want to make it big in BW.. they would need mental fortitude and huge emotional support at home. ( like Big had his parents, SRK had Gauri, Karthik A has his family, so on )

I’m

Not sure what ppl are proposing here ..

How do u ensure an outsider “get his due” if

1. Film Production Houses are all private business owned by individuals

2. Selection based on audition is subjective To individual taste

3. Supply is more than demand in terms of actors available for a specific part...like kashyap said, there is a huge line of u wanna get launched by a big production house and get maximum exposure

how do u cut out bias, favouritism from this ? How is merit defined?

Yes we all understand the pains of an outsider but how do u propose to make their life easier?
