Good Newwz Had A Good First Day - Dabangg 3 Down

Good Newwz has had a good first day as it made good gains post the afternoon shows to record collections of around 18 crore nett. The film had a pretty good start in the morning but the range then looked around 15 crore nett so the gains in the evening are pretty decent.

The film has performed best in Delhi / UP and East Punjab as both these circuits beat the numbers of last weeks Dabangg 3. Some centres did not start well in East Punjab but came on board after 1 pm. Delhi / UP is fantastic as collections look to cross the 4 crore nett mark which will edge out the Dabangg 3 numbers though that had many issues in the circuit on day one. There are still some centres which are affected in UP though not as much as last week.

The film has also has a opening day above Housefull 4 though that was pre Diwali release. Overall its a good start for this film where the real story should be weekend growth and 18 crore nett is a good starting point. The film will have good chances to record the highest ever Akshay Kumar weekend score from this opening day.

Dabangg 3 had a big fall on day eight with collections in the 3 crore nett range. If mass markets are a little better it could be a little higher but either way it has taken a big hit and that 150 crore nett mark is looking a tough task for the film.

let me be honest..it is not a perfect movie..it has its share of slips and flips..but it is definitely a good movie..it makes you go through a roller coaster of emotions..you laugh..cry..feel it all and the best it comes very naturally for which credit has to go to the writer..director for handling a sensitive topic so well and of course for the actors who played their parts to the T

kiara is rock solid..considering she is the least experienced actor from the lot..she holds her own..yes her efforts may seem a little obvious at times but that is obviously coz the actors she shares screen with are so terrific but she does justice to her part

diljit was excellent..whether comedy or emotional scenes..he never lets you down. However i won't call him the best from the lot as many reviews mentioned..he was great though..not taking away that

now coming to the heart and life of the movie..who for me are the best we take from this movie..akshay and kareena..they are so so good

akshay is such a naturally gifted actor..he just breathes life into anything. Watch him in some scenes particularly..when he burts into laugher on his interaction with kiara..when he says he does not feel attachment for the kid to be born..when he sees his biological daughter for the first time..when he breaks down when he meets kareena after it..he has nailed each of those

kareena..what to even say..this girl only tells you why is she here since 20 years and how she is the only one from her time who has still had her game super strong. She is so sincere as dipti..i will be honest..when i saw some promos i felt she is overacting..but like they say..watch the complete movie before giving feedback..i was wrong..she has lived the role and while this one did have some scenes where she is shouting..or super irritable..and to make a role which is not so likable on paper..so so likable and relatable..only a superb actor can and kareena does it..full justice..particular mention to her monologue with akshay, she is brilliant there

the movie has its share of flaws..songs i feel are too many and some just reduce the pace..it has a superb first half..but yes the second half dips a little..and the ending i feel could have been slightly more defined..it just felt a bit abrupt..nonetheless..this movie is still a very good watch..very entertaining with some solid moments..go for it guys..

Loved reading your review of Kareena! Seems like the whole cast performed really well but people are loving Kareena’s performance which apparently is the most subtle out of the whole cast

The story is interesting kreena and kiara are soul of this movie specially bebo she shines throughout i loved both their characters

The evenings picked up well in all metros as the morning collections did look a little lower which means there should be solid growth today and maybe it could even make ground where it has been hit due to protests in UP. The film has not been hit as bad as Dabangg 3 like last week but there is a hit.

The film has not been hit as bad as Dabangg 3 like last week but there is a hit.

The low collections have come in Gujarat / Saurashtra, Bihar and Nizam / Andhra and here the film has the potential to pick up well especially Nizam / Andhra. UP is low because of protests but these two are low as the film does not have much initial value due being a North based film and an urban comedy.

Akshay Kumar has already three HITS behind him this year and this one has a good chance to become the fourth as collections should show a solid weekend and then there is a holiday factor till the end of the year to push the film till Wednesday. The East Punjab ratio has come in high at almost 15% probably as the presecnce of Diljit Dosanjh helped the film here by around 60-70 lakhs.

Top Twenty Opening Days - Good Newwz 11th

Good Newwz had the 11th highest day of the year with around 50 lakh loss due to the pretesting in UP. Its so solid number for a film which barring Akshay Kumar and the music does not have much initial value as the film is in that urban zone. If we take out the holiday factor then the initial is pretty much in teh Mission mangal range. It is also same range as Housefull 4 but that was hit badly by Pre - Diwali.

There is a record opening this year with War and Bharat also going above 40 crore nett and there are 15 films with an opening of over 10 crore nett which is a record but still the Friday initials have been pretty disappointing as most films sjould really have opened higher than they have. This can be seen by the fact that the Saturday growth is far higher now than it was a few years back. The top twenty opening days of the year are as follows.
