Vacation
A breezy comedy that has the best Chris Hemsworth cameo. It is wholesome compared to some National Lampoon flicks but still maintains some of the risque content.
Moonfall
If you think Bollywood movies are over the top and unrealistic check this one out. This has to be the wildest disaster film ever where the moon is a hollow AI structure. Far wilder than 2012. Roland Emmerich is the king of disaster so it packs entertainment.
Inside the Mind of a Cat
There is not enough cat research compared to dogs. As a cat person, I can tell you they are grossly misunderstood. This documentary explores research into cat psychology. Contrary to popular belief they are social, affectionate, and highly trainable.
Do Revenge
As a Maya Hawke/Robin Buckley fan, I was looking forward to this. Do Revenge is a wildly entertaining and thoroughly satisfying revenge drama. It combines elements from classic mean teen flicks like Heathers, Cruel Intentions, and Mean Girls into a modern Gen Z drama. There are plenty of twists. Sarah Michelle Geller's character is such a big nod to Cruel Intentions.
Bad Education
Hugh Jackman shines as Frank Tassone, the embezzling school district superintendent. He's such a conflicting character. As a school administrator, he is charming and thoughtful. He remembers the names of all students and encourages them. His staff respects and adores him. And he gets results. He's transformed his Long Island School district into 4th best in the nation. He's so beloved that his crimes are undiscovered for over a decade until a school reporter decides to dig around.
And that's what he is, a criminal who has siphoned off millions of taxpayer dollars for personal gain. He's a vain man who spends exorbitant amounts on suits, plastic surgery, and cheating on his partner with a younger man.
Allison Janney is Pam Gluckin the assistant superintendent who is his partner in crime misappropriating funds herself. To be honest, as wonderful as Jackman is i would have loved more Allison Janney because she's always so awesome.
Despite Tassone and Gluckin's crimes, I couldn't feel sorry for the school board that was defrauded. They were all ultra-rich people who throw money at their school district in carefree abandon as long as it assures Ivy acceptance and high property values. Rather, I feel sorry for school students in poor districts who struggle to get basic amenities while districts flush with money can be so callous.
The movie was a bit slow-paced for me and lacked dramatic tension. But the fact that its a true story makes it intriguing.
