Honestly I'm someone who doesn't understand how chemistry works out between the leads usually but in films like these you realise how much of it is just the acting part. With Sai Pallavi though, it feels like the Telugu industry has hit the jackpot, I don't remember the last time an actress keeps elevating the movie by leaps and bounds as her. ⭐️

Oh yeah, Jersey was a great film, as well. There was a point when I was debating what the characters should or should not have done but the beauty of a good film is it makes you feel intensely for the character's motivations and actions even if you aren't in complete agreement with them. Loved that film and I think it is easily one of the best Telugu films in recent times.

i think chemistry is good writing, acting, direction, some actors like amitabh are just awkward in romantic scenes, also maybe more easy, "non-method" actors who are not too absorbed or focussed on their own performance carry it better as you need to look immersed in the opposite person, say a srk vs a kamal

yeah, byomkesh, udham also had good design, goes to show that good aesthetics are more important than budget

yes, true, sai pallavi also found a good mentor in shekhar kammula, she says so, who let her be herself but gave roles which were solid but commercial hits and she took off from there with confidence

well put about jersey

No Time to Die

Finally saw Daniel Craig's farewell to Bond. As a Remington Steele fan, Pierce Brosnan is my favorite Bond. I hated Daniel Craig. But he grew onto me.

No time to die is a middle-of-the-road Bond movie. It's not a dud, but it doesn't reach the heights of Skyfall.

Lashanna Lynch's 007 was well written. Her interaction with Bond and the quips they share was the highlight of the movie.

They also tamed down some of Bond's womanizing as a married man. I found that more jarring than a female 007.

I guess the movie would have been more fun in theatres.

Everything everywhere all at once

Understood almost NOTHING.

Way too intelligent for most of us in theatre. Lot of people left midway

Babli Bouncer - I think the movie was quite light-hearted and demonstrated good concepts in many ways. Though the plot isn't out of the box, I think cast did their parts decently. Babli bouncer did face several ups & down whilst in Delhi but she remained confident in the lessons she learned. Great movie. 👍

Don't Worry Darling

Partly inspired by The Stepford Wives, Don't Worry Darling is a similarly feminist psychological thriller.

Alice and Jack Chambers are the perfect couple. They live in the idyllic company town of Victory. Jack is a rising and successful employee at Victory inc while Alice is a happy homemaker. However, Alice soon starts doubting their idyllic existence and suspects something is wrong with the town.

The cinematography and set design are absolutely stunning. Depending on the scene the camera work is mesmerizing or unnerving. The acting is also brilliant. Florence Pugh is in top form as a performer. Harry Styles unfortunately is a new actor who has to star opposite such a force like Florence. But he manages to keep up with his charm and guile.

The story is also unique and unsettling. The last half hour of the film is super trippy and pulse-pounding. A lot of people faulted the story and direction for their negative reviews - but I found it intriguing. Sure it is on the nose with its messaging but it really manages to engage you.

Definitely worth a watch when it comes on streaming. Too bad the controversy gets more attention than the movie.

1. Trapped - season 1 is good. investigative , slow burn. S2 onwards boring.

2. Anatomy of scandal. - Good political thriller based in UK. Only 6 episodes but chances of s2 coming.

3. Elite - spanish thriller, s1 was ok. s2 onwards very stretched and slow. total 5 seasons.

All are on NF.

Blonde- Ana De Armas is amazing as Marilyn Monroe, but the movie is too dark for my liking and may be a bit exaggerated. Like a trauma p*rn. It was one of my most anticipated movie of this year, but left me too disturbed. Marilyn deserves better.

The woman in the house across the street from the girl in the window (Netflix)

Yeah that's an actual title. I mean the ridiculous title should've been enough to know that this was a parody series of crime and mystery sub genre. Or maybe the fact that Kristen Wiig was the leading lady. Or that Will Farrell is one of the execs of this show. But I'm ashamed to admit that it took me the end of episode two to actually realize that this was a parody.

The thing is it isn't ridiculous enough to actually pinpoint and say this is strange. The humour is subtle but when you start noticing, it becomes a riot. It's pretty funny how this flew over peoples' heads. I saw reviewers dissing this show and saying it is a badly made crime thriller. Duh doy!

Binge it if you have nothing else going on.

3.5/5

Plan A Plan B on Netflix …it’s a light hearted rom com and a good watch both Tammana and Ritesh were decent.
