Well in reality, 99% of fans are just casual and they don't give flying F about these "hits or flops". If they like the movie = "hit" and vice versa for not liking = "flops". Only LEGITIMATE trade source to call it a FLOP is Komal Nahta (his verdicts were always strict, he called your Manikarnika a big flop too if ya care). there r only two people in this entire thread tht r trying to back an already 'done n dusted' movie 😆they brought 'manikarnika' into their discussion to prove a point...one komal nahta LOL but even KOMAL nahta had said the film done pretty decent collections but budget was huge nowhere he said the film was a FLOP..bring it up and let us see..there are numerous articles online that claim the film's a decent success..i can post them all in a single thread..but how many sources have claimed that SOTY 2 is a success LOL except KJO himself.?? atleast be reasonable😆

Student of The Year 2 droped on day eight as it collected 1.50 crore nett. The film has seen an almost 60% drop which was always a possibility as the film did somehow hold up better than its reports over the weekdays of the first week.

Despite being an city rom com its holding up better in the mass circuits. Gujarat has helped Mumbai to a 60 lakh figure on its second Friday. Tiger Shroff has a solid pull in mass markets as a film which is urban in feel and look is holding better outside urban centres. The film may have done a little better outside Ramadan as likes of UP, Gujarat and Nizam would have been higher.

Overall the film will be an Average / Below Average affair depending on where the collections end. It should cross 65 crore nett but may not be able to reach 70 crore nett. The daily collections of Student Of The Year 2 are as follows.

Student of The Year 2 collected 2 crore nett apprx on its second Saturday and the growth was not what it should be after the drop on Friday. The growth was around 30% when films be it success or failures grow much more on the second Saturday. This could be as the audience came out for De De Pyaar De on day two which was not the case on day one.

Student Of The Year 2 has performed better in Mumbai and some mass pockets but this limited growth probably means it will not reach 70 crore nett unless it the huge growth comes on Sunday. The film will get over the 60 crore nett mark over the weekend and should be able to cross the 64 crore nett of Student Of The Year (1912) but that was seven years ago and footfalls are far less.
