@bold For the audiences in general, Dara will be like a totally unknown person, their reference point would be Ranveer's portrayal, but there's a LOT of material available on Dara Shukoh.

People will obviously not remember ever single Mughal Prince in history. They will remember only those who became Emperors and Aurangzeb is one of the great Mughal emperors, also the last.

I agree that the creative writers can play with the character of Dara but he'll most likely be portrayed as a righteous hero in complete contrast to the villainous Aurangzeb.

Also, Ranveer will lend a lot to the character of Dara because of his star power. If they would've reversed the roles and Ranveer would've played Aurangzeb, all the focuse would be just on him because as it is Aurangzeb is very popular and so is Ranveer. Same happened in Padmaavat with Khilji.

People didn't care much about Ratan because Khilji is the stronger character and is popular. Ratan is unknown and Shahid is just not as popular as Ranveer.

People wouldn't have cared much about what happens to Dara because he's not a well known figure and if he would've been played by Vicky because he's not a superstar like Ranveer yet.

Having said that, I definitely still think that Aurangzeb is without a doubt the strongest character. He's very popular, controversial and eventually the one who becomes emperor. Dara will be executed and I wonder how they'll end the movie.

I think the reason why Ranveer picked Dara was coz its almost like a fictional character because of the lack of awareness and material about him. Ranveer will have a free-hand at improvise and make a character sketch of his own instead of fit into a mould which Aurangzeb will have to eventually as he is well known and there are parameters he has to match.Irrespective of him being good or bad Aurangzeb will have to be portrayed black (perception) a heartless tyrant which would be same as Khilji and would have been very repetitive for Ranveer. By choosing Dara Ranveer is actually honing his directorial skills at Karan's expense.

I want Janhvi replaced with Sara because Sara fits the role physically not Janhvi.

Also, this a KARAN movie, nepotism will happen either way so might as well have someone who fits the role and is talented. I've seen Sara act, she's good.

I can't think of any other young actress to replace Jahnvi who fits the role which requires a young and beautiful girl.

History is written by the winners. In this case it was Aurangzeb so whatever we get to know about Dara is filtered truth. As the title itself suggests Takht is the goal but what we will get to see is the journey to the throne so the movie will end the way Padmavat ended.

Shahid is an A-lister and very popular the reasons he was overshadowed by Ranveer were one - he was a miscast. two - the director had a bias for khilji as his evilness fascinated Sanjay.

I mean, besides Alia being dragged in !!! and my worry that Kareena will get the better role amongst all (ensured by KJo that this will be her GREAT comeback!)... I am pretty much happy with the actors

That's because I cannot see Kareena in a period movie as a lead actress. Bhumi too doesn't sound promising for a period movie, although I might still give her the benefit of the doubt. But Kareena... nope!

Sadly true! The main thing you forgot is LOVE story 😆😆 which is a must for a historical film in India 😆

Padmaavat was a very bad film but made 350+ crore 😲😕

Maybe Kiara should play Jahnavi's part. Not because Jahnavi doesn't look the part, but because I don't think she can deliver those dialogues properly and without an accent. And Sara should play Alia's part because Sara looks better than Alia and has a better diction.

Actually, Shahid himself said that Khilji is the stronger character and any actor would've loved to play him. Shahid even said that he also would've loved to play Khilji.

Shahid was overshadowed because Khilji and Pamdavati are the main characters of Padmaavat not Ratan. Also because Khilji is the stronger character and is popular. Yes, Bhansali did give a LOT of screen time to Khilji but either way, it would've been Khilji who got the limelight.

There is very little historical info available on Ratan. Shahid said it himself so he had to give his own interpretation.

Shahid is not A-lister anymore. He said it himself on Koffee With Karan this season that he's not in Ranveer and Ranbir's league.

Anyways, I'm not talking about who's good and who's bad between Aurangzeb and Dara but I'm talking about how Aurangzeb is the stronger character because of his popularity.

Oooh great idea! 😃 But I think Kiara is not a good actress, I've seen some scenes of her from Lust Stories but at least she fits the role physcially. 😆She will have to mostly dance and seduce Aurangzeb 😆😆 I also think Janhvi will not be good with the dialogues and diction

I did think of Sara in place of Alia because Sara undoubtedly looks regal and has good diction ⭐️ but Karan has to have his daughter in each film of his so no chance 😆

Also, I think he's planning to pair Alia and Vicky because they had a great chemistry in Raazi. This is what the recent reports are saying.
