Eeh it always was and always be.
The thing is people just talking about it non-stop for whatever reason. Especially since it involves celebrities some want to feel good about calling them out but nepotism exists in every family and some have advantages over the other and this has not always something to do with a job or job opportunities.

When it comes to Indian cinema, nepotism maybe older than prostitution.

Until the 90s and early 2000s most of the launch attempt of starkids failed
Like Manoj Kumar, Raj Kumar, Vinod Khanna, Rajendra Kumar, Feroz Khan etc all tried to launch their sons but their attempt failed..

Mala Sinha's daughter failed miserably... Pooja Bhatt was reasonably successful bcz Mahesh Bhatt was casting her in all of his movies, she exclusively used to work with her dad

But Kjo reversed that trend

Also, during this time - the content was really bad and Bollywood was going through a financial crisis.

well why leave out the successful star kids/nepotism people of 90s and so on.
Aamir, Sallu, Lolo, Raveena, Kajol, Rani, Hrithik, Abhishek(he has done reasonably well), Ajay Devgn, Tabu.

Lets not forget that Twinkle Khanna had a super hit debut, but eventually she failed.
Same can happen to either of Sara/Jhanvi.
The thing is these things have been happening since eras.
But people just ignore it, because bashing Aloo-Kjo is the ''IT'' thing.
