That's so true every Big star/or Stars who were consistently delivering previously failed or underperformed this year be it Khans, Akki or Varun, meanwhile every other actor who delivered a flop before made a solid comback this year (didnt count 2.0😆)

Deepika is a star, superstar even, but she isn't as big in the real world as people make her out to be on IF.

I do not know of many bollywood fanatics that go gaga over any Bollywood actress like this forum would like to believe. People like Deepika, yes...but, they like a lot of other mainstream actresses similarly. Alia Bhatt is getting as popular and is pretty popular among moviegoers as well, but people seem to be downplaying her success? I watched a few reaction videos to Gully Boy on youtube, and every other reaction displayed how they expected Alia to deliver, and she did. Yeah, she may not be at her absolute peak yet, but she has only been in Bollywood for 6 yrs.

Point is, Deepika has done well, the numbers may suggest she is number 1, forever and always, but actual people, do not seem to be gushing over Deepika like this forum would like to believe. The super stardom that a lot of people want to associate Deepika with, is relative.

no it didn't, Piku got 78 crores, while PKP2 had 60 crores.
Just like Raazi got 122 crores while Kedernath got stuck at 66something.

I personally like Alia as an actress and Deepika for the star value that she adds to a project...But even in the real world, at least people around me, gush about Deepika a lot...Alia is yet to make an impression but right now Deepika seems to be the it...Alia will surely cross Deepika at some point as she is still only what, 24 something(?)-in terms of the Bollywood, but will she reach the stardom that Deepika has achieved- that is yet to be seen to be believed...

Deepika has made her permanent place in bw. Her success is not aaj hai kal nahi type. She will always be relevant in bw.

superstar status does not matter in today's time esp after seeing the state of the Khans.

In this forum, the young actors like rk and rs are considered superstars and in the place I live ONLY Khans are remembered as Superstars😆

I am not sure what Deepika has done over the past year or so, apart from getting married which is why I mentioned that trending online, endorsements etc a lot of times are a result of PR overload.

Yes, she is currently still doing well for herself to stay relevant despite not having many films in the past whatever time period, but apart from Alia, no one has really delivered performance wise either. Anushka's films have done whatever, Katrina was never known for her acting anyway, PC is more or less out, Kareena is doing ensemble films, Sonam has always been there doing her own thing...and so that just leaves Alia - who has been delivering her best and climbing the ladder as an actress and as an overall star. So, Deepika has not done anything..a lot of others just have not been able to deliver performance wise where it's making many believe that Deepika's stardom is unmatched. She may still be number 1 in terms of ads, online trending, how pretty she is, she looked great at her wedding, love her with Ranveer and whatnot kinda thing..but, as an actress/performer, which is obviously the major contributor to any stardom, there is a lot of room to argue at the moment. That is because, she has barely had any release for so long...and others, have either been doing their own thing, or not been able to leave a mark with their films, apart from Alia.

Gushing over an actress in my opinion is there for many. Actual stardom where can this person be dethroned by that person, in bollywood at least, is more or less what the Khans have witnessed.
