I'm sorry but anyone who says Ranbir's performance in Sanju was average is a plain hater in my eyes. 😊Playing fictional characters is a lot easier to do because the actor pretty much has the creative freedom to develop any kind of nuances or mannerisms they believe is fitting to the character. On the other hand depicting a real life person, that too an actor who everyone is soo incredibly familiar with, and staying true to who that person really is, is extremely difficult. Ranbir nailed it to the T, right from his walk down to the way he talks, he lived Sanjay Dutt's character. It's mainly Ranbir's performance that held the film together. He is really magnetic. And I'm not even exaggerating when I say that when the end credits were on and Baba Bolta Hai was playing, not a single person left the theatre. Literally every single person there stayed till the very end. I can't remember the last time that ever happened.

The movie itself was not well directed, that I certainly agree with. Especially after the first half, it took a turn for the worse.

I haven't seen either of those movies so don't know how bad they are.

Good for you if you liked Sanju. But for me it was a disappointed. Actually this year has been a disappointment.
First padmaavat bored me to death then Sanju put me to sleep halfway through and then badhai ho turned out to have the world's slowest second half.
To make matters worse Haunting of Hill House turned out to be a melodrama then a horror series. 😵

If you're suggesting imitation is harder than creating a character from scratch and that too in a country like India where so many junior artists live off imitating and actually earn a living through it then thats just nonsense. None of those people had prosthetics or vfx help either lol. People like Amitabh Shah rukh Sanjay Dharmendra Dev Anand Salman or even Aamir have very typical mannerisms. Almost caricaturish. So its not that hard. If you've ever been in or indulged in the low theatre circuit in India this is what they teach you.

Whether you like it or not, Ranbir IS an excellent actor and atm better than the forum's ladla - Ranveer who still has to prove himself successful without the crutch of his wife!

how do u know that the TM is a rs fan? the TM cud just be a neutral member who is asking a question about a movie, lets not make everything into this fan vs that fan

and ranveer is definatley not the forums laadla, he is one of the actors who gets horribly bashed on here

On topic I watched the movie and for the most part I liked it. It has horribly whitewashed Sanjay's character and as Mahesh Bhatt recently said it's not the actual Sanjay Dutt at all. Its a dishonest portrayal. Anyway, Ranbir wasn't bad in it but if it was someone else other than Sanjay I dont think would be interested in the story. Public want to see the scandalous stories. But more than anything else, the lack of appreciation for Paresh Rawal is something that's bothering me. His Sunil Dutt was wonderful without caricature . I really loved it. Sanjay was lucky to have a father like that. He didn't deserve him.

I didn't like the movie, though the performances were good. Ranbir has done much better in other movies.

Because it made all that money. Hit hai toh fit hai.
Btw I saw some clips of the movie on YouTube and got sick of Hirani's repetitive directing style.

Ranbir might pick up some awards next season. From what I saw I found him meh.
