Come on yaar. Varun barely gets any appreciation on this forums. And in reality. Kjo doesn't Varun like he favours Alia, Nadiadwala doesn't favour Varun like he favours Tiger. Bhansali only favours Ranveer and whole industry (especially Kjo, Hirani, RKF) favours flop Ranbir.

Varun's actually sustained and has managed to pull a successful filmography so far rather than having a messy and uncontrolled budgets for their films

As an actor Ranveer is certainly not overrated. Lootera and DDD are legit choices and performances

As a star he may need to prove with few solo hits (Simmba might be his first)

I'd say he is underutilized rather than over or underrated. If he had the opportunities of certain others... There was an admission by he-who-shall-not-be-named that all the best opportunities go to him. Ranveer Singh doesn't have that kind of advantage.

If anyone is overrated then it's RANBIR. I think it's a huge advantage that he is a Kapoor lad. His flops and repeated acting/non versatility would have ended his career long back if he wasn't a Kapoor.

My feeling is opposite - i generally dont like him in slb movies esp esp khilji but I super loved him in BBB ... He was such a natural ... and lootere was also fab

I think the problem is that most of the movies he has done outside slb are so bekaar that his performance gets overshadowed by the rubbish movie itself

Now he has everything going for him .. interesting non slb lineup, diff roles and public interest - in the next 1-2 years

We will get to know where he stands

He is good actor no two thoughts about that, but his performances in SLB films have been very loud and otp. Khilji and Bajirao are overrated else he's good.

ranveers acts how the director tells him, with Bajirao and Khilji slb wanted the characters to be larger than life, and i think rs did it effectively, i mean they hav become two of his most praised and recognised performances
