The daadi -poti have clarified on aajtak that daadi went to stay there willingly.. grand daughter is appealing not to judge her family harshly..

BTW...talking about circumstances that kids can't keep their parents with them...aaj tak kabhi nahi suna...ki kissi maa-baap ne apne bachho ko anath aashram bhej diya ho...ki ji humare paas tumhaari take care karne ko paise nahi hain...and those who do dump their kids...society doesn't excuse their behaviour ki...koi baat nahi majboori thee...

You seriously have never heard of parents giving up their kids for adoption? A significantly high number of adoptions in Africa and South Asia are parents giving up their kids so they can have a better life. Some parents even sell their kids into slavery...but that's a whole different can of worms.

Also, you cannot compare an old age home to an orphanage. No one can dump an elder at an old age home and walk away. They are not free nor are they charities. You have to pay for their room and board services. These can be modest costs to exorbitant. So just how parents sometimes choose to put kids in daycare or boarding school, kids put their parents in elder care or old age homes.

Now there are some charitable old age homes like orphanages. This is for elderly people who are poor or come from poor families or those who do not have living relatives. These old age homes will not let anyone just dump their parents there.

So I just don't get why people feel it is always abandoning parents. Stereotypes and assumptions need to stop. Learn more about people and the choices they make.
