Things are different in West...yahan per toh 18 years mein bachho ko ghar se bahar kar dete hain ki adult ho gaye...go fend for ur self...when I was 18 toh mere Mummy Papa manne ke liye tayyaar nahi the ki unki gudia adult ho gayi hai😆😆

Because honestly all most of the older parents are doing at their sons' homes is babysitting, housekeeping and other mundane chores while their son&DIL are busy with their own lives with hardly any time to spare for anybody else!

oh please I don't know if this is true or not...the story I mean...but if we go by the story...why would the parents lie to their daughter about the grandma...if she had indeed gone there by her own will...and what do u mean by parents expecting their kids( not only sons) to care of them?? why shouldn't the...when parents are old...toh unko utha kar old age home mein bhej dena chahiye? seriously??

Maybe I am not that modern that's why for me take care of my parents is my duty if someone not doing the same for their parents for me he/she is not a good human being ... when you can't take care of your parents those give their everything for your future how can you be faithful in other relations.. ...

You need so much support in your child age and old age only..when you young, you strong and take care of yourself ...

Parents full filled their duty and now it's your turn ..You do not exist without your parents.

yes and second thing is parents left their all wealth to children ,most of the time they r the one who help them to buy a house especially in sons cases ,money bhi use karni hai aur care bhi nhi karni hai,

india is not safe country for old ppl ,they cant live alone in a house like USA ,they will get kill in 7 days, this is fact.

So sad just imagine the impression that girl have gotten from the behaviour of her parents.

What children do not realize that they are letting their own kids learn that it's okay to send grandparents away to old age homes or not take care of them. This will come and bite them in the future when their kids will do the same with them.

As the saying goes what goes around comes around, the boomerang affect.

Unpopular Opinion :

Parents need to stop spending all their retirement money on their children. They need to hold onto their properties till their last breath. They should not let anybody take over their assets and money no matter how much they love them. They should help their children know and avail loans for their financial needs. They should not repay their loan amounts. Teaching your children financial responsibilities is also a part of loving them. It helps in the long run.

Oldage homes and housing societies for senior citizens should not be discouraged. The better the facilities and rules for such places ,better security and stability will be available to the senior citizens. Rather than making them vulnerable and unhappy with their children I would rather have them settle down at places where they can live independently in a secure home and have good company. Also not everyone abandons their parents, most have relocate from time to time to other cities where their parents can't go with them or do not want to go with them. Sometimes their security is not adequate in these localities.Plenty of cases where senior citizens were targeted by criminals because they lived alone and were easy targets. With time we need to adopt practical solutions. We can still keep condemning irresponsible children but the priority should be to come up with better solutions for the parents.

In the west, the older couples prefer to live in old homes primarily for company, comfort and to enjoy life. In India, old people are expected to dedicate their remaining lives in caring for the grandchildren. Particularly with old women.When they were not allowed to live their lives freely when they were young, how would they do that when they are old.

thats true,sons n their wifes use them like maid,i have seen many above 60 ladies who go friday market to take veggies, poor old ladies they go in those market ,suffer so many dhakke there n hardly can wallk with that much weight ...more than 5 kg,but their sons never told own kids to go with gradmother so atlest they can pic some stuff but no ,they r so selfish.

parents should not give any help n money to kids after 20 ,kids should purchase their house themselves ,sons takes money even for buying their own house , they think parents should do this ,if parents say no ,son;s wife family start badmouthing them.
