Anyways Sonam is quite traditional. I have always found her to be so. I have friends just like her who appear very modern & progressive on the surface but inside they are traditional to the core. And that's ok. You can be whatever you want to be. I like her for speaking up for many issues and doing socially relevant films. I like her philosophy of life & friendly nature.

Also when we are born we don't choose our names. Our parents choose what surname we will have. So to say WE choose daddy's surname out of respect is lame. Should have stopped right at my choice!

in your earlier comment. And that's where I pointed out how they did not make identical changes to their names. Sonam added Ahuja and Anand only added an S. So when people say that the husband has also changed his name, then he hasn't taken up her surname like she has. It is unequal. And I will not applaud a man for taking up an initial of his wife because "kam se kam usne itna toh kia, kitna cute hai wo, usually husbands bilkul change nahi karte, so we are happy with whatever little we got".

I am all for personal choice and emotions. So really I don't want to criticise her name change but the truth is she did it cuz she's conventional, and it's fine. But why give reasons which DO NOT make sense to look modern and justify yourself being a feminist. That is stupid, in my opinion. DP not removing her tattoo is unconventional, not the norm in society. She is making her personal choice and I respect that also. But if she gave some stupid justification which I found nonsensical then I will not support her in it either. They should just keep their mouth shut if they don't have anything smart to say. That's it.
