The picturization of this is as delightful as the movie. Rakesh (Dev Anand) is an architect who unwittingly ends up agreeing to build two houses on two adjoining plots that belong to arch enemies, one of them being his own father and the other, the father of the girl, Sulekha (Nutan) that he's fallen in love with. It's a really fun movie with Rakesh wooing Sulekha and she being unable to resist his charms 😳 and then her horror at discovering that he's the son of the buddhha, khoosat old man who her father hates! 😆 While Rakesh's father (Om Prakash) thinks that Rakesh has charmed some Rajkumari and Sulekha's father (Harindranath Chattopadhyay) adores Rakesh but has no idea who his dad is!

The dialogue is delightful and witty and I love how understated the performances are except at the end where it all goes over-the-top melodramatic. Still, it's a fun movie and this is a fun song!

Rakesh vows to build the house opposite hers and Sulekha appears in his whisky glass telling him it won't be easy! I love the part where Rakesh's assistant (played by Rashid Khan) drops an ice cube into the glass and seeing Sulekha shiver, Rakesh gives him an angry look and proceeds to remove it and thrusts it in his mouth!😉😆 Goldie Anand's talent is so evident in this.

Lyrics are by Hasrat Jaipuri and music by the Navketan staple - S.D Burman, Mohd Rafi and Lata Mangeshkar lend their voices.
