When World Bank refused funds, Guj temples donated for Sardar Sarovar Dam: PM Modi

"The World Bank said it would not fund the project," the Prime Minister said in his address at a public meeting in Dabhoi, an hour's drive from Ahmedabad, after the dam's inauguration. The World Bank, he said, alleged the dam would ruin the environment. "It did all it can to ensure India cannot have such a mega project... But India too had decided that World Bank or no World Bank, we would build the Sardar Sarovar Dam," he added.

well this celebs only care about their box office #, once the movie is out from theater they don't even care. sardar sarovar dam was suppose to help 4 states with electricity and water that included even maharashtra where he is now part of paani foundation. had stupid celeb not protested that time, the project wouldnt had taken 30 year and there wouldnt had been any paani foundation by now.

Love the work Paani Foundation is doing in Maharashtra.

Dams are not always good. There are lot of debates about the positives & negatives of dams. You can read about it- google is at your fingertips :-)
