He is not related to Supriya or Pankaj. His father is that Rajesh guy who was neelima's second husband. Shahid is his half brother. And Neelima and Rajesh were both side actors in the television industry at a time when tv stars did not get paid as much. He lived with his mom and for a while shahid was estranged from his mother. So who knows how much money he saw.

I don't think he is lying either, but seems like he is too young and inexperienced to understand what middle-class really is. Using public transport, haggling for those extra 5 rupees at the market, buying new clothes only during sale, squeezing the toothpaste until it looked like the roadroller had run on it, savin up money to be able to visit McD, collecting newspapers meticulously and selling it to the kabadiwala for those 100 rupees every two months. 😆 I doubt Ishaan had to do any of these things. But who knows. 😆
