Army doctors are quite well off, can be called upper middle class definitely, docs are generally high ranking officers and are given bungalows, servants and most of their purchases are from reduced price army stores so they barely have to spend anything from their army salary.

My Bua's husband was an army doctor who retired as a Lieutenant General and now he has a huge house in Kolkata. They have lived all over India, in plush bungalows with at least 2 servants, military car/jeep at their disposal and a comfortable lifestyle.

If we take Indian residents in general, Ishan Khatter would fall squarely in the "elite class' economic bracket with a lot of wealth and privileges most Indians cannot afford. In that sense he is delusional.

If we take Bollywood as a subsegment, Ishan Khatter is definitely middle class. He is the half-brother of a starkid. His parents are small time stars without much clout in Bollywood. In that sense he knows his place.

That being said, I think he is talented and down to earth. (so far at least)
