Sridevi is my favourite actress. The news of her death came as a shock. I've never been so affected by the death of a celebrity. It's the first time I cried when hearing for an actor's/actress's death. Since the news of her passing, my eyes fill with tears every time I think of her or watch a video of hers.
Sridevi and her movies were an important part of my childhood. My very first vivid memory of a Sridevi movie was Tohfa. I remember after Nagina released how much I tried the snake dance but could never do it as well as Sridevi. Then of course her other movies came Chalbaaz, Chandni, Lamhe, Guru, Mr.India, Khuda Gawah which showed her versatility. Her acting always shone through in all her movies. She was mesmerizing on screen and her eyes were her eyes were her biggest assets. She could convey so much emotions through her eyes without any dialogues.
Sridevi was a complete artist, the complete package. Several actresses came after her...Madhuri Dixit, Juhi Chawla, Rani, Kajol, Preity Karishma, Kareena, etc but none of them was a complete package. Sridevi was Sridevi. There is nobody like her. Very rarely an actress with such calibre graces the silver screen. Sridevi will forever remain the Queen of the silver screen...Main Khwaabon Ki Shehzaadi, Main Hoon Har Dil Pe Chhaayi!
