Jauhar and misogyny are not attached ONLY to Padmavat...true...but the depiction in Padmavat when its being questioned is being defended based on the REAL history of it( I am one of those who have defended it)...Khilji is not a fictional character and I find it impossible to believe that a heinous disgusting man like Khilji would go and act like a total joker as depicted in Khalibali and other snippets...if u are going to give the logic of a commercial movie and not a historical...its fine with me...then there should be an answer to those objecting to Jauhar and misogyny that why a COMMERCIAL movie couldn't correct the misogyny and Jauhar part ...atleast make it symbolic as the movie is for modern day audience...it doesn't go both ways u know...u can't defend part of a movie based on history but brush off some objections saying that it is a commercial movie.

People thrash the Jauhar scenes: Thats old times.. Rani Padmavati did an act of bravery which suited the time.. Don't judge as per today's times (okay no arguments)

To clarify, this "real" Khilji pic is a 20th century artist's imagination, used for a school textbook. Ranveer's Khilji is similarly a 21st century director's imagination. Different medium, different interpretation. There is no picture from the relevant time period to refer to for accuracy.

He did show things as they were, Khilji invaded Chittor - that happened, jauhar - that happened, what he didn't show was Khilji killing 30,000 people after invading Chittor.

Movie should have shown the massacre of 30,000 Indians by Khilji's army, at least there would have been some basis for the 'demonizing Muslims' argument! So what if this one barbarian was shown with long hair and ate chicken wildly, how is that affecting a whole religion negatively 😕
