During an interview with a leading channel, Ranveer talked about Nepotism, which is currently the hot topic in Bollywood. He said, 'The only thing I ever wanted to do was to become an actor. And then it's in around 10th grade that I realise

that in the position that I am in the film industry the way it is structured is very nepotistic. At the time when it was around the year 2000 when I was in 10th grade and I was looking around me the only people who were getting break were sons of actor, director and producers there was Abhishek Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan, Tusshar Kapoor and Zayed Khan, you know everybody had a lineage, there was absolutely no example to go by, to kind of pace, to take a bunt on, that if he has done then why can't I do, there were only Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar and that too years ago.''

Nepotism ka arth Hindi mein hai...Bhai-Bhatijavaad...😆...ab Ranveer kiska bhatija hai...Anil Kapoor and unki wife ka...toh hua na insider...

kehne ko toh koi kuchh bhi kehta rahe..

I think we should cut him some slack. He is an outsider when compared to people like Abhishek Bachchan and Hrithik. Also like most other outsiders he too went thru the casting couch with Shanoo Sharma eventhough his dad financed his debut. I dont think Abhi or HR had to go thru the casting couch like Ranveer eventhough I am sure their dads too financed their debuts.

Big B financed Abhisheks debut ??

Wasn't he too broke at the tim 😆

If that is the logic of being an outsider, then Shahid Kapoor is outsider too by same logic. 😆

True. We dreamt of Sunny Dewan and Anu Dewan started living in a chawl, Anu gheesoing bartan wearing cotton saree when he lost a huge chunk of money. But the reality is he still drives a Rolls-Royce.. his filmy friends didn't drop him like hot potato. When these people lose money it's actually janta who lose money. 😆

I think he falls somewhere between an outsider and an insider (😆). His immediate family isn't in the film business, but his relatives are, and he has grown up in the same society as the star kids.

I remember him mentioning during lootera promotions, that the party in which he had danced on Chumka Chumka as a kid was also attended by Sonakshi. Didn't Shanoo Sharma also spot him in some party? So he grew up in the same social circle. Also he comes from a wealthy, well connected family.

Not taking away his hard work, but I do feel he didn't have it as bad as a complete outsider does when he/she tries to break into the industry. But also not as easy as a Hrithik or Abhishek for that matter. And Ranveer also seems very passionate about his work, whether we like it or not is a different matter, due to which I think he deserves to be where he is today.

I didnt get your logic. Both Shahid's parents are actors as are Abhishek's or HR's(family of actors, music directors and producers).

Same question asked by Parindey more than 10 times 🥱 Ranveer's parents don't belong to Bollywood and his relatives Anil Kapoor family does not look like a family who will help when they themselves have 2-3 kids lined up for Bollywood. His own son's Harsh Kapoor's career is over as soon as it started.
Ranbir is a insider but is reduced to flop actor with no box office trust. Hrithik is insider but has hardly any releases now. Varun is a insider and loved by audience. Ultimately who don't deserve reduce to flop actors.
