And I don't believe in Alia's sham audition. It's not possible for Karan to select her among 500 girls because he saw something in her. She was fat, short, and baby faced - complete opposite of the heroine today's filmmakers seek. Pretty sure there were girls at the auditions much better than Alia but they obviously lacked the bhatt surname.

Alia is the most Talented actress right now. And Kjo was bang on about her selection. Go watch Highway n Udta Punjab. And guess wat? She is just in early 20s n yet gives mind blowing nuanced performances equal to Sridevi/Madhuri. She will beat them all in Acting as she has age on her side. Mark my words.

According to me, Outsiders mean someone who is the First generation of their entire family to be associated with Film industry. It is those like Prithviraj Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Rajesh Khanna, Madhuri, Roshanlal, SRK, SSR, Deepika, PC, Katrina, Bhumi, Kriti, Anushka, Amisha, Akshay, Sunil Shetty, John, Arjun, Sid etc.

Insiders are those whose families are related to film industry in some way or other.

How many insiders go around auditioning multiple times for a role? They get 3 movies before debut.
I don't get why all of a sudden people are after Ranveer .Well I do sort of. He is force to be reckoned with and khilji being so popular is scaring some of the Superstars themselves.
Either ways people are talking about him which is a plus.

Also his dad's business was not stable during his struggling days. During his first utv day with a star he said he said they had to leave their duplex because of his Father's business probs .

He could not have financed BBB then.

His dad and Sunita are second cousins. Not very close.

Having said that, he is lucky to have grown up in bandra which is like the hub for bw strugglers.

Alia maybe talented now but no way was she selected because of her audition. That tape was everywhere on the net and her performance on the song bahara wasn't out of the world for her to be selected from 500 girls. I remember Karan saying he had no idea she was bhatt's daughter, which is absolute bullshit, because a Gossip Girl like Karan who is aware of all things Bollywood would never not know Alia.

Well, that depends on how bad the other 499 girls were. 😆 Frankly, I never thought much of her until i saw her in Highway. That monologue scene where she talks about childhood abuse was one of the best performances i hv seen in a long long time. And it was just her second film.

Even I liked her in Highway and Udta Punjab. I just don't like to see her in almost every other Dharma film.

Even I didn't think much of Ranveer until Lootera's second half. Especially their last conversation is one of the most poignant I have seen, and I don't even like romantic films. Didn't like him as the clownish Khilji for which I blame SLB.

Bottom line - I don't have a problem with either Ranveer or Alia. Only difference - Alia is a pure starkid, where as Ranveer's case is 'slightly ' different.

Slightly different, i agree. But i dont think he is outsider like SRK/Akshay and shud not club himself with them.

I loved Ranveer in BBB. It is one of my favorite films actually.

But, as far as Lootera is concerned, i loved the locations n songs. But, i didnt like his dialogue delivery n acting in it. I felt he was struggling in many scenes and has a problem with non-melodramatic scenes. I actually loved the acting of the unknown supporting actor. Now, i know that he is VIKRAM MASSEY! 😃

Hrithik case is different. He came from a family of Music directors. But not so popular ones. Rakesh Roshan was only Actor in his family and he was a flop, struggling actor with no stardom or fame. Yes, he was a reasonably successful director in 1980s and even his Karan Arjun was hit but his last film was a disaster n he was in debt. Hrithik was not a typical "Star" kid as his father was not a star. Nobody even knew he existed and that he was also debuting that year. Unlike Bachchan - Kapoor debut. It was word of mouth and love of the audience after the film released that brought both him and his father superstardom.I personally came to know of Rakesh Roshan only after Hrithik debuted.

Ranveer in comparison to Shahid/HR actually had a more successful and famous Family background with his Star Uncle Anil Kapoor, Star Producer Boney Kapoor who was husband of Sridevi who was a Top Star and Sonam Kapoor who was popular. Whether they helped him with his debut is a different thing. I like Ranveer and i respect his struggle but i dont think he is an Outsider like SRK.

Point is each one has a different journey and struggle. Who is an Insider and who is an Outsider depends on ur definition of the term.

Shahid's situation was same as Vicky Kaushal's today and Ajay's early in his career. Their parents were working in BW, might have had connections which helped them get noticed with someone who might have wanted to finance their first film.

We cant compare any of them to HR. Rakesh Roshan was a pretty successful director and actor. And his mother's family was very wealthy and influential in BW. His grandfather ie Nanaji used to be a go-to man for BW for their disputes and issues. Assuming that Rakesh Roshan was in debt also its easy for a well connected director to raise finance. Look at Abhishek Kapoor raising finance for Kedarnath today despite a dud like Fitoor. Or Mohit Suri doing Half Girlfriend with a decent budget after a dud.

I am sorry if you were unaware of HR or his debut or RR. But the reality is people knew RR and his son and the fact that he was debuting. Yes Abhishek was much more hyped. Plus there was the controversy involving Kareena when RR had to fire her for bad behavior.

Agree on Ranveer...he was well connected and cant be compared to SRK or even Akshay when they started out. But by the logic Ranveer uses he is an outsider.
