at the same time, fats are also important for the body... protein is also needed, esp if you do weight train...but excess protein puts extra pressure on the kidneys, so be careful when you go on a high protein diet...

Here is another link that tells the benefits of whole grains...https://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/08/10/whole-grains-health-benefits_n_5655022.html

By no means, Am i saying that Kareena is following Rujuta's diet... she must be doing lipo and other stuff...

but to be fit and healthy one needs to eat a wholesome meal...and that includes everything in proper proportion...

do you also know that carbs are in vegetables as well? Our main source of carbs isn't bread and grains or rather it shouldn't be. 20-30g per day from a different sources is sufficient for people looking to loose weight.
As for protein putting stress on the kidneys...that won't be the case unless you're diabetic. And we are not talking about eating ginormous amounts of protein. And of course we need fat. I never mentioned eliminating fat. Fats are required for the absorption of a lot of vitamins in our body.

when you eliminate carbs - its like entering a whole new world. You literally have NO cravings for sweets or more carbs. That right there is weight loss.

^^Eh not what happened with me & a # of people I know. When we eliminated carbs from our diets, we began craving high fats. I had to restrain myself from running to MCD! For their fries, mainly. I think healthier forms of carb are good. Like brown rice/red rice/multi-grain bread. I've heard that this should be consumed in the morning. I also feel that every body is different & there can be no one homogenous diet for weight-loss. For me, eating more protein & less carbs does work, but not elimination of carbs from my diet.

And i also doubt kareena is following her diet. No one is going to lose weight eating grains. Weight loss comes with eliminating grains and carbs (pretty much all kinds) and increasing your intake of protein. Carbs are usually limited to 30g if you strenuously work out, otherwise below 20g is the rec allowance.

And if kareena was getting Lipo, why would she put her body through the torture of it repeatedly? Why not just do it at once?
Given that she has gained and lost weight many times, people that have lipo never have weight that returns the way it does on her body...evenly. Lipo weight comes back in all odd places and gives the body an unseemly appearance. She still has fat on her arms and her legs are still as chunky as they were when she started.

As for her face, she isn't in her 20's anymore so you're not going to find any plumpness on her face unless she gets botox a la Katrina Kaif.

-

Roti is mere atta with water and cooked on griddle. Sabzi is sunflower oil, onion, garlic, ginger, masala. Lentils may have a little ghee. What kind of fat can be added? Meat maybe if the fat isn't taken out of chicken or mutton. But someone wanting to lose weight isn't going to have those. If they have the WILLPOWER to cut all carbs, they definitely have the willpower and intelligence to cut extra oil from their normal diet.

As for Kareena face, Pls look around and see your environment, if there is someone of 37 who is exercising and losing double chin of those proportions she had before and after pregnancy, and has tight skin all over by mere exercising and Diet' in a year? Can you yourself do it? I've seen people get double chin in their late 20s and they can't get rid of it.

So Kareenas newly found tightened face when she came from Switzerland is done by exercising to glory for two weeks inSwitzerland. With baby in tow. She hasn't done lipo and done half a dozen face lifts? Her arms and legs cant get thinner without cutting into muscle and bone. Those are how her arms and legs are at their thinnest. They are still chunky because that's her body type. Aishwaryas present tight face of 40 something which is smaller and tighter than when she was 25 is due to workout and diet?

So Katrina has done Botox and surgery and Kareena hasn't?

Really?

I don't know even one person who has eliminated all carbs from their diet. Which ordinary person lives on fruit and vegetables as a way of life? I'm not talking about actresses or sadhus.

Actually Fruits and vegetables ARE carbs... Thats why its impossible to be a vegetarian and be on the keto diet (20gms of carbs)... Keto diet is impossible when you are a vegetarian...

Keto will make you lose weight but nowhere is this a healthy lifestyle as the person is claiming... By that logic vegetarian lifestyle is not a healthy lifestyle 😛

Its a very demanding diet and basically all you can eat is chicken and bacon and other nonveg... And keto is crazily high in fat... One of the main things ppl opt to drink in keto is the coffee bomb which is coffee mixed with oil and butter... Yikes!!

The healthy diet by medical standards is still 50% carbs, 30% fat and 20% protein... This might change when studies come up but as of now this is the health standard and not 20gms of carbs

Just to add to this discussion. Fruits and Vegetables are different in terms of their calorie counts. Fruits tend to have more complex carbohydrates in them which render them to have more calories. Whereas vegetables (your leafy greens and whatnot) will give you far less calories per serving.
What bips is saying is right: 50% carbs, 30% fat, and 20% protein is a proper ratio.

You cannot eliminate carbs entirely. Your brain and body do need a minimum amount daily to carry you for the day. But there are different carbs. Simple carbs that you find in junk foods vs Complex carbs that is found in bread.

For weight loss, you need to cut down on the CALORIC intake in total, by making sure that the sum of calories you take in is far less than the amount you burn in a total day. You do not need to remove "all carbs" to lose weight. That's the ketogenic diet...at least look that up before going through it. That's a whole other discussion with its own pros and cons to it

omg no. where are you getting your information? You need to update your information. 50% carbs isn't recommended ANYWHERE unless you're part of the government agenda to push dairy and carbs down everyones throat (govt has contracts -- whole 'nother topic that goes into politics). Even they have adjusted to 25% carbs after much criticism. Carbs turn into sugar. whole grains are complex carbs - but even they turn into sugar. What are other benefits are there to carbs? carbs is like fodder. I know this is very difficult to process because as a desi, we are so used to eating rice, daal and roti. its a staple of our diet and we are incomplete without it. i get that, trust me, its a constant struggle.

losing weight is a bit more complex than watching calories. Sure, in the beginning you will lose weight by restricting your caloric intake, but 6 months later, that's not gonna cut it. You will have to make changes to what you eat. Protein is by far the most important macronutrient to consume when attempting to loose weight followed by a MODERATE amount of fat.

Whats so wrong with eating 4oz of protein + a large healthy green salad? Dont judge it as 'not enough' if you haven't tried it. Its very HEALTHY and fulfilling. you've got the carbs you need from the vegetables in the salad and you've got the protein and fat from the dressing (assuming its a healthy fat) and meat.

also, you cannot remove all carbs because carbs are in more or less everything. you can reduce the amount you consume by eliminating things like bread, rice and lentils. If you must eat bread, try almond flour bread. Has half the amount of carbs as regular bread.
