So competition might be more even this time, in fact Padmavat might get more support from those Indians who are opposed to Karni Sena's gundagardi

The right wing supports Padmavati too. Their messiah Arnab Goswami was also doing hour long shows in its support. Anyway, right wing support also mostly goes crazy if it can be used to teach a lesson to Muslim actors, which is not the case this time.

That's why Akshay and Twinkle are whining. Otherwise they would have just jacked up Akshay's fraudulent desh bhakt image PR.

Padman is a small quickie anyway. Like all Akshay movies, it can make as much money as other actors' flops and still be called a superhit. Of course it's hilarious that both Padman and Padmavati are facing what they usually harass others with.

Why? No star or film should monopolize release date and holidays. The audience should have a choice as to which movie to see and badly made movies should tank at BO.

Padmavati will not get a open week, so let the movies clash.

Even last weekend was long weekend with today being holiday in many states. This weekend was wasted and now they are crowding other one

That would be great if it actually worked like that but it doesn't. Badly made movies also work really well sometimes and good ones also flop a lot. Box office success does not mean a movie was good or vice versa.

But I still doubt if family audience will go and watch Padman like they did for Toilet , general Indian populace is still so uncomfortable abt discussing sanitary napkins and menstruation, how can they watch it onscreen with kids in tow?

Akki a visionary, since when? 😆 Hes a cunning and manipulative guy, using national sentiments to make profits and project a fake deshbhakt image. In the first 23 years of his career, where was this Manoj Kumar in him hiding? 😆

Today, Jan 15, is Sankranti holiday in some states, its not a National Holiday like Republic Day

These producers want to make the max profits on opening weekend, so they prefer a countrywide holiday weekend rather than a holiday in some states only
