Considering the extra ordinary circumstances under which Padmavat is releasing, should Akki not give Padma a free weekend?

Padman is a small movie, it doesn't need a holiday release. The content looks good and it'll reach its target audience even on a non holiday slot.

Padmavat will be banned in a few states. It needs all support and maximum screens in the states that are releasing the movie.

I always thought that Akki thinks about larger picture and about BW movie industry. He knows that he has nothing to lose with Padman and Padma needs him to move out on another date.

If BW is threatened by outsiders, it is equally threatened by insiders too. Why can't BW show solidarity with Padma by giving it a free run and full capacity?

Tweeting and showing support , blaming government and Karni sena is all good. It doesn't do anything for movie. Giving Padma a free run will be real support by Akki and it'll set good example.

Technically, Akki announced first, so he is not obligated to move.

But here, Padma makers have no choice, but to release it asap coz of mounting costs. They are not clashing deliberately. If they don't release asap, some other objection will crop up . They got CBFC certificate and they chose the nearest date.

Tina was supporting Padmavat, asking everyone to support it and all that blah, now when the real test comes to support the movie, she is saying that its unfortunate that there is clash and Padmavat should have chosen another date !! How inconsiderate is that . Where is unity and solidarity now?

LMAO! People in BW dont have guts to speak up and support their colleagues from the same film...and that is justified as something that might worsen the situation. And here we expect Akshay to be self sacrifice ki murat. Padmavati isnt his film...atleast he spoke up and wished the film all the best at a time when RWers can take offence to even that burn down cinemas playing his film.

Why should he? Lmao. His movie was scheduled first.

Did the Padmavaat team think about the bigger picture when they moved their movie on a date in which a big release was already scheduled ?

Did the very same team move their date whe SRK needed it during the Dilwale release and intolerance comment backlash ?

No they didn't. They posed as the smaller film as the underdog and acted as if nothing was wrong, I think that's the attitude the Pad Man team should have.

They have already engaged costs in the promos too and it's in full swing.

Padmavaat team might want to think about a digital release. This way those who want to watch it won't be prevented from doing so in the privacy of their home.
